Tekken for PSP

namco doesn’t wanna screw over arcades like they did with the ps2 release of t5. therefore they don’t wanna put DR for ps2 yet.

More screens.

The official Tekken site has like a thousand screenshots, knock yourself out

Looks like TTT in terms of graphics.

Man I forgot all about diagonals in Tekken. Dudes we are fucked.

Why won’t Sony redesign the psp with gasp gaming in mind!

The game aint gonna have online play

You all know it won’t and I wish they prove me wrong.

I don’t think any games will have online play for the PSP anymore. It’s all Sony’s fault. Publishers can’t afford to make a bunch of games with online play. They have to take care of the servers and everything. No wonder XBox Live works so well. It takes the financial burden off of publishers.

So hopefully PS3’s HUB online setup will spill over to the PSP and more games will use the infrastructure feature.

Tekken PSP won’t have Infrastructure, but it will have Ad-Hoc, which you can technically do online with Xlink Kai.

I presuming a gfx downgrade is necessary for a psp port?

I just don’t think Japan’s caught on to the whole online thing yet, so it’s not a priority for Japan devs to add in online play… SCEI should have enforced Infrastructure Mode as standard for as many PSP games as possible… on the other hand, I don’t think you have to worry about online play for Western-developed competitive games…

japanese are probably too busy playing dragon quest whatever with extra dragons edition to go online

i don’t know if you guys saw this or not, but a pretty interesting post about tekken being on the psp:

Yeah, I read that. That’s some complete bull right there, with the real possibility that it’s Sony, not Namco, Sega, or anybody else who keeps constantly denying us as gamers. The people that run Sony Computer Entertainment are so far down the road of “arrogant N64 era Nintendo”, I’m not sure there’s any coming back. Or at least, not until MS or Nintendo screws them outta the top running and they’re wondering what happened. Sad.

On a little side note: the “sales figures” given about PSP/DS sales in America were total BS. Sony wishes PSP was outselling DS at all, much less by a million units.

OH NOES, MY MOM DIDN’T BUY ME ANYTHING BUT A PS2, SO I’M GONNA WHINE AND CRY LIKE A BABY! RELEASING A GAME I WANT ON ANYTHING BESIDES THE PS2 IS LIKE, TOTALLY F’NG RETARDED!!!1111111111 BOO-HOO!

Bump… there’s a rumor (a credible rumor that Namco hasn’t confirmed yet) that Eighting (same company that made Tekken for GBA) is developing Dark Resurrection… so the only home port of DR isn’t even going to be made by Namco… will it even have the fighting engine and frame properties as the arcade??? Looking at how SC3 turned out, my faith in Namco putting out a quality fighter is shaken…

OH god why. And I was just about to tell everyone about all the cool new features that can be see on the official japanese site, the june 26th release date for the US (july 6th for JPN), and downloadable ghost characters from Namco (only infrastructure mode).

And they crap about Japanese people and online play. Lol, they should be into hand held online play more than us. I’m sure if you went to JPN right now there would be open wi-fi signals all over the place.

Actually the real reason why there isn’t a Dark Resurrection for PS2, is the more likely scenario of an upgraded Dark Resurrection for PS3 which is what the so-called “Tekken” title for the PS3 launch will be. That and US arcade operators bitched at Namco Hometek for releasing the PS2 Tekken 5 so fast in the US.

Doing a PSP port of DR is just that, a PSP port, it has nothing to do with an abandoned/missed out PS2 port.

New news. TEKKEN BOWLING is back, and there are supposed to be 2 more side games to be revealed.

Maybe they will just throw in tekken ball and tekken force.
