TEKKEN 7 | Lounge

I’m impressed about how many people that are interested in T7 didn’t play any Tekken title since T3. I’m reading this literally everywhere and I’m part of it too. What the hell happened for everyone to forget about the franchise for so long?

ps1 was my last console…that happened in my case…get it now on pc.

it can be partially attributed to the decline of arcades in the early 2000’s since that’s where most fighting games were initially released prior to being ported over to consoles. Tekken 4 was out during that period and the gameplay changes it had such as walls/enclosed arenas and wall hits have become standard ever since then but it wasn’t for everybody back then.

another reason is the inconsistency of a true global release starting with Tekken 5 DR not having an official release in the EU territories and a weak release in North America. some arcades didn’t bother picking it up as the cabinets were getting more and more expensive at the time. also, T5DR had a delayed release on PS3 WITHOUT an online mode(!) which only happened the following year as an update.

Tekken 6 was a different story though. nonexistent NA arcade release and a full 2 years(!) for it to reach consoles [2009], boring af solo campaign and horrible load times when you run it without HD install. oh, SFIV came out in 2008 btw so there’s that too.

If you think Tekken 6 load times are slow after install, I hope you are not playing the game on a regular PS4. Funny, Tekken 7 is the first Tekken since 1 that I am skipping…

I haven’t played a Tekken mainline game since 6 and that was for like a minute. I’m a SC guy but I haven’t played a 3D FG in a million years. I hope I can adapt to T7 somewhat decently.

That being said if my performance in SFV is any indicator, I’ll probably get bodied by Eddy cucks spamming lows and stomp my PS4 to dust lmao

SC1 came out 1995, SC6 2012.
Either I’m having a different feeling for time, or I’m old as f***.

btw. I’m unpacking right now, it takes ages.
Lord Gaben, why is superior steam technology so slow?

Nobody forgot about Tekken. You’re just projecting.

I reported that there are lot of people who are in the exact same situation as me. Are you illiterate or retarded?

Nah, you’re just one of the biggest shitposters here and in the Overwatch thread, but I’ll re-quote it again since you seem to have already forgot what you wrote:

You giant fucking shitheel.

I’ve also observed a lot of interest in Tekken 7 from non tekken people or people who haven’t played it in years. I think it has to do with e-sports.

Another guy was able to understand the question and reply correctly, so I’ll go for illiterate.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’ll ignore you, since you’re worthless in every thread you participate to anyway.

Got it on PC.
Plays real smooth and looks DAMN fine.
Only fought one online match. Against an Akuma. Who tried to use newbie Street Fighter tactics against me. in TEKKEN.
Took me just one round to get a little of the rust out of me, but damn it’ll take me getting used to the notations they gave for Jack’s tailspin combos.

The shit against that player was easy pickings. Game’s smooth. And loading could… use a tiny sprucing up, but is still loads faster than anything of the videos I’ve seen.

Understanding it was never the issue. What you wrote was just fucking dumb.

But again, to be totally fair, I am the dumbass arguing with a 1 year old account.

As expected since the game is kinda heavy on GPU requirements I have occasional frame drops on a couple stages, but without v-sync and due to the nature of the game I should be fine. It still looks great even on lower settings anyway.

I’m learning some Claudio combos (too bad there’s no tutorial or combo trial whatsoever). I find the stance mechanics pretty fun. A couple questions:

  • what are the safest ways to transition into Starburst?
  • what do I mainly use to punish unsafe stuff on block?

Input delay testing.

Finally some hard numbers to show that 720p does have less delay than 1080p.

Still higher than TTT2 though.

Actually, with this and SFV, I’m beggining to wonder if it’s something with Unreal Engine 4 that’s the cause of this extra input delay.

I don’t think so because 1. Injustice 2 and KOF14 don’t run on UE4 and still have pretty high input delay 2. SFV managed to lower the delay to around 6.
Besides, didn’t Harada state they purposefully added input delay to cover the network delay?

SFV’s delay still rounds up to 7.

KOFXIV can’t really be used as an example seeing as it’s the team’s first go around making a 3D engine. Injustice 2 runs on a custom build of UE, likely with bits of UE4 added in (since they did build the mobile version on it).

For comparison’s sake, Xrd Rev 2 on UE 3 only has 3.5 frames of delay.

Also, that “adding delay to cover network delay” statement was for TTT2, which only has 5 frames.

Rev has even less delay on PC (around 2-3). I wonder if T7 might have less delay on PC too since you can turn off vsync.
I’m pretty sure the statement was about T7 (source), but the two games seem to share the same netcode anyway.
There’s hardly any way to tell if the culprit is UE4 because there are only two fighting games running on this engine as of now. Maybe someone will find out.

played about 40 matches with friend
3 bar connection
didnt lag or feel any delay
was able to block what i wanted to block and not drop any combos
good on his end as well

yeah jumped into some online matches too on pc and beside of one last hiccup in the last round of one match i had no issues at all during the fight.
the search itself or better to say pairing got canceled quiet a lot of times, especially when you dont run the search for ranked from the “trainingsroom” where the messages pops up.

playerbase on pc seems fine too with a day one peak playercount of over 13 000
http://steamcharts.com/app/389730
that are not unique numbers of people who bought it, just how many where online at the same time.
