i think theres too many options to read oki in this game so eventually as the game progresses people will learn to maintain huge offensive pressure and still avoid dps

Akuma is going to look strong because he gets away with some crazy shit Tekken players aren’t use to. His DPs break the rules for oki and block strings since they interrupt pretty much everything.
Poongko’s problem is that he goes ham with gimmicks like the Demon Flip and Shoryuken too often. He catched people off guard with wakeup EX DPs a few times but once they saw through the tactics - Poongko got blown up easily.
And he has the same problem across three games now
SFIV - going ham with wakeup DPs with Seth
SFV - going ham with wakeup DPs with Cammy
T7 - going ham with wakeup EX DPs with Akuma
You can criticize his gameplan but I think you will find Poongko is actually the third best Tekken 7: Fated Retribution player in the world 
Oh for sure, Poongko is a beast in T7 despite the flaws in how he handles the game/Akuma, I’m also glad to see that he plays like he always played Tekken
Geese master taking out Nobi was the play of the tournament
He was unbelievably composed and I think he had a really good chance to make top 2
There were certain things that people adjusted to like the jump angle of akuma so that he couldn’t jump in they face. great top eight though
