Over the top overmasculine power stuff like that has always been popular outside japan. That isn’t going to be a problem. Lucky Chloe…now something like that could be.
As disastrous as people made it sounds some months ago, they’ll get over it.
Yes hardcore tekken fans, fg fans it won’t effect weather they play/buy the game. However tekken is a game with massive casual appeal as well, right up there with street fighter…maybe even more. I think those are the people namco needs to be concerned about (also considering they make up the vast majority of sales).
Which is exactly why we’re getting lucky Chloe, since she’s meant to appeal to a certain demographic.
You’ll get your generic muscular shaved head white guy. You can safely ignore the Otaku pandering catgirl.
Well I actually dislike generic characters but I’ll get the game anyways if it is real good. Though chloe has an audience I’m sure, she is going to turn many more away from buying the game than draw in.
You still think those who are interested in Tekken 7 will not buy it because of one character?
For fucks sake, I still remember when people were bitchin like crazy about Bob (before RUFUS of SF4 came around), yet T6 still sold respectably well.
Those really interested…hardcore series fans? Nope won’t effect them all. However casual fans who don’t play fighting games much, and aren’t longtime tekken fans? Yeah I do think that chloe is a dealbreaker for them.
The casual market still bought Tekken 6 in decent numbers.
However, even with the improved stuff and MORE EVERYTHING that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 delivered, it brought in less numbers.
Seems the “casual” market are less interested in Tekken overall, judging from reactions of what’s come out so far with T7. Chloe is the least of that game’s worries.
One character is not going to be the deal-breaker.
If anything, TK7 “looking the same” as TK5 will have more of an effect than one harmless girl.
But… what about my muscular shaved head white girl?
I despise Chloe and I’m going to buy the game regardless, provided that it comes for PC, but I can picture a lot of casual players looking at Chloe and dismissing T7 as an animu game. They’ll win some buyers and lose some, and they’ll alienate a lot of people in the process.
If you don’t buy the game because of 1 fucking character you’re a moron.
People decide to buy a game or not because of not one reason, but a number of them, and they all add. [Almost] nobody is going to avoid buying Tekken 7 just because of Chloe, but she’ll be one of a number of factors for people deciding what game to buy.
I’m going to buy the game, as I said, but I’m probably waiting for a deeper discount than I’d wait for if it wasn’t for her.

Exactly, and all the other factors will make it to where she won’t be nearly as big an influence as people believe. She sure as hell won’t drive Tekken into niche povery game status.
Anyway they appear fun, looking forward to seeing more.
Tekken tag 2 is 10.50 on PSN right now, might as well get it.
Well, based on the front page comments, alot of folks are either getting won over by her playstyle, or just don’t care anymore.
Really waiting to see if the other characters are time release
That will be a deciding factor in whether this game is worth getting

I still dislike Chloe, however i don’t care anymore. She’s in the game, some people like her, others don’t.
After viewing some more screenshots and (offscreen)vids of T7, the game looks graphically really impressive, and i like the lack of bound and tag.
A lot of my favorite characters are already in the game, however i’m still waiting for Jin and Nina. Hopefully T7 console(and PC plz) release isn’t too far off, 6 months or so…
