Anime threw off Tanukana. Anime is the way

knee’s bryan fucks up saint’s jack-7 woot
excellent match.

edit: forgot to put up the vid lolol

No, it really wasn’t. He was just throwing shit out without using any form of movement (not a single sidestep, no backdashes to space himself). That sort of style works really well against mediocre players, and can be stopped quite easily by people that know the matchup. I know it’s an occasionally effective playstyle with Paul because of his massive damage and intimidation factor (both of which Jebailey used well, to his credit), and even good players pull that shit out every once in a while (or get hit by it). But relying on that stuff doesn’t work in the long run.

And yes, I constantly get hit by that shit myself. :frowning:

Oh, and another question: why is Bryan almost always considered an “Advanced” character in terms of difficulty?
And no, saying “taunt jet upper” doesn’t count. Knee just beat one of the strongest players in the world without needing it. Furthermore, Leo has something that’s of comparable difficulty execution-wise (full u/f+2,1-conversions), which is also more practical to set up than taunt JU, and nobody in their right mind would consider Leo anything but a simple character.

Again, I’m curious. I don’t think he’s an easy character (he’s got a backsway after all), but “advanced”? He seems straightforward enough in his gameplan, he’s quite safe, his space control is great, his BnBs aren’t particularly hard yet do amazing damage, and Orbital Heel is one of the biggest round-stealers in the game. What am I missing?

Most of Bryan’s advanced strategy comes from taunt combos, saying “taunt, b4, jet upper” totally counts

Before the event started I said “You guys all ready to see the Europeans drowning in pools, the Americans except for Anakin not making top 8, and the Japanese and Koreans slugging it out to see who is allowed to get beaten by JDCR in grand finals?”.
So far my predictions were immaculate.

And yet he can be played effectively, at the highest level, without having to utilize it.
Compare that to the other characters people consider advanced. Hwo, Steve, Ling and Yoshi are quite unorthodox and it takes time to get used to them. Mishimas speak for themselves; especially Kazuya needs EWGF to cover for his weaknesses, and Mishima movement takes a lot of practice. Nina also has really high execution requirements, Lee too to my knowledge.

I mean, I generally rate the difficulty of characters based on what’s practical to do in real games, and how much time it takes before you’re able to utilize the strengths of a character while minimizing their weaknesses, rather than what’s theoretically possible to do with them if you have inhuman execution. Maybe I just think about this differently than most other people.

Only players that think Bryan is a hard character to use are Bryan players.

Bryan is not hard to play
Knee didn’t even use taunt combos against saint
You taunt combos are hype but you don’t have to be able to do it in order to be a good Bryan

I’m more surprised that Jebailey made it out of round 1 pools with that style. I pretty much play similar to him but with poor input execution.

3 russians which used the same tactic to bring you on the other side of the screen in the hope that
you cant perform well on it. asked one, he confirmed it XD.
i wonder if this affects people in tournaments too now since its just one screen and
one has to start on the other side.

several ra glitches trough opponents or does not connect after a absorb.
glitching trough opponents with qcf1 a lot of times.
ranked up or more to say back to my rank from a few days ago.
full pc patch still not available for us and no eliza for everyone beside
of the preorder guys…

there are 2 americans in top 8 like i said
was surprised knee took saint to a infinite stage probably needed that to adjust to the proper spacing before finishing him in the wall stage

bryan relative to most of the cast is intermediate and while you dont necessarily need his advanced stuff theres a reason why knee is the strongest bryan out because he uses all of the character to his fullest potiential
and saint and knee have played each other FOR YEARS with knee demoting him and hitting him with taunt setups before
if you dont think that was in the back of saints mind especially with a fatass character that cannot escape the tracking of taunt at the wall (the guessing is horrbily skewed in knees favor) you are crazy

taunt at the wall will always make you a better player.
but yeah on a base level hes easy
orbital is a good panic move
all his main moves counter hit which leads to wall carry especially at the mishima and g corporation buildings where the design is PERFECT for him
mach kick is a stupid ass dumb good move and it got buffed
he has room for growth

It used to be that optimal combos are different from wall carry combos, at least in the old games.

Bryan’s normal combos…ARE his wall carry combos. He’s fun and easy to use.

where the law players at.
RIP the only one?

JFJ maybe Real Law?

I Just want to see Jeondding use Chloe in Top 8 at least once. He did fine with her in pools, only using Eddy when he felt he needed a “safer” pick. if theres one Korean I want to see win it, its him. That or Anakin.

General Knee all the way

@“Tekno Virus” smile protection plz lololol
