Ok so I finished both the story mode and all the character stories and I gotta say:
Wow this was total garbage.
The whole Mishima saga didn’t lead to anything and every character except for Heihachi and Kazuya were completely superfluous in this thing.
The character stories are also complete trash for the most part. Couple of funny ones in it but even those were put together with the maximum amount of doing the minimum.
Biggest positive was that you didn’t have to slug through arcade mode with every character to get the ending you want but only had to do one fight and be done with it.
The single player content gets saved by the gallery only, which is basically just copied and pasted videos and artwork from all the other Tekken entries, most of which don’t even have a PSN store release.
I mean not the biggest deal, but the main story is even worse than SFV’s and Injustice 2’s story and the character stories are on the same level of bad as SFV’s.
At least they had everything ready to go for release though, even though they did the bare minimum to polish the console version up, and everybody acts as if it was the savior of fighting games.
Capcom really set the bar low for single player content in fighting games nowadays. People eat everything up that doesn’t suck as bad as SFV.
I think the plot is better than SFV and NRS games and the direction is way better too. My only grief is that it’s too short and ends abruptly like they didn’t have any more time to write something else.
Oh and btw, turns out that big knockers Eliza was just an outfit.
Looked to me like they’re gonna expand the story mode in upcoming patches, or at least that’s what I hope for hardcore Tekken lore fans.
Would be pretty crap to leave all those strands hanging in the air like that.
If I had to rate modern fighting game story modes, I’d rate SFV pretty low but still the highest.
Then Injustice and Tekken 7 worse but on the same rating I think.
Just think that all have shitty overall stories, that nobody cares about and have no interesting themes to explore, it’s just that SFV’s gives you the most insight on how the characters are like, both of which Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 don’t do a good job at.
But I’m the kind of guy that hates shit like Transformers or the new Terminator films and loves Mad Max and Dredd, both of which did worse at the box office than the first two trash films, so I bet people are gonna praise Tekken 7’s story just as they did with Injustice 2 and MKX and I’ll keep asking myself “Why the fuck?”.
Also does anyone know how the jukebox works?
If I use two themes for a stage, does it alternate between rounds or matches?
Between rounds would suck, that’s what happened when I put a playlist on shuffle.
For example, he has Street Fighter V at 88.6ms (5.3f), whereas it is at 117ms (7.0f) according to another source.
He also has KoF XIV at 76.5ms (4.6f) whereas another source has it at 100ms (6.0f).
Given that he has PS3 version of TT2 at 94.0ms (5.6f) and the other source has 116.7 (7.0f), the Tekken 7 input lag of 120.1ms (7.2f) is probably closer to 9f in reality.
-9 is safe against every character except one (Yoshimitsu). The fastest moves are i10 across the cast.
-10 / -11 is often not a huge deal though, a lot of the time those moves have a risk-reward that makes the threat of a jab punish worth it. Above that things get a bit more scary, however.
I still don’t get how you can have Fr tournament and the game has been out 10 days
The way namco have handled that is a complete joke, world tournament when half the world don’t even have the game, the dregs like europe and the usa playing versions 2 or 3 versions old
There are a very variables you have to consider when punishing namely push back.
Just because the frame data say’s you can punish it does not mean you can, something like pauls deathfist is a prime example.
You can punish deathfists if you block it really close, but if block it at the tip it’s harder to punish, in fact some character’s might not be able to punish it at all despite the frame data saying you should be able to, very much like terrys burn knuckle in kof 98
It’s a case of suck it and see and experiment and see which moves can and cannot be punished
Around -10 11 you’ll probably eat shit like mishima 112 122
around -14 you’ll be getting launched
again it’s a case of knowing your chracter and knowing what you’ve blocked, some chracter’s might not have a 14 frame launcher blah blah blah, you get the picture
-15 is the magic number for getting launched, at least for standing moves. There aren’t that many characters that have a 14f standing launcher; the Mishimas, Lars and Bryan are the only ones that spring to mind immediately.
Do they just like toying with Leo’s gender? In story mode they say “he” referring to Leo and the main outfit available are for man (including one with underpants and the small bulge), yet there are a lot of female hairstyles for Leo.
