The sticks look nice! I’m only getting PS3 since that’s my next-gen system. I gather the stick has a MadCatz TE feel to it. The case sure looks more like the TE.
I do have a question about the case. Is this closer in size to the MadCatz TE, the HRAP case, or the Hori Fight Stick? It’s hard to tell from the pictures and I imagine those are mock-ups/prototypes or early pre-production sticks with oversized game cases.
I actually like the idea of wireless but am hoping we get a a MUCH longer USB recharge cable than what comes with the PS3 controller pack-ins! We need cables longer than 6 inches in this day and age!
I’ll probably change the art on the faceplate of my stick if I don’t like it after it arrives in August but I’d like to know if the buttons and stick are Sanwa parts or Hori stock. Leaning more towards Hori stock myself since wireless/Blue Tooth and rechargeable batteries tend to raise the prices of controllers.
Don’t know about you, but I never had a problem desoldering the buttons from 3 of my 4 Tekken 5 sticks. Now the last T5 stick I desoldered buttons from WAS a pain to desolder but it may have been the particular batch of solder used in that stick. Sometimes old solder is harder to melt and soak up with braid for whatever reasons. The faceplate also proved harder to grind down the tabs on, too. Guess I was just a bit rusty in my mod skills. Number four was definitely a challenging stick!
I’m hoping like you that this stick uses Sanwa parts and that the buttons are NOT soldered to the PCB but I’m not holding my breath, either. If I have to, I’m prepared to pick up my soldering iron again and perform more surgery to get the stick up to snuff!
Nice to see the stick IS native wireless and that I don’t have to sacrifice another controller (Six-Axis/DS3) to get the wireless option. (Frankly, this will probably be the ONLY wireless stick I’ll bother buying/modding.) It definitely begs saving the built-in wireless PCB mod or no mod IMHO. Hopefully, if I do have to mod the darn thing it’s no harder to mod than the T5 stick was…
I’m hoping the $50 extra premium we’re paying for the T6 stick (over the T5 premium bundle) means Hori is actually using all-Sanwa parts but I’m certainly not counting on it. I could see them justifying wireless as the extra charge for the stick like it or not.
Ce la vie!
Looks good; I think I’ll get this to complement my K-stick.
This doesn’t show up until at least October 27th now???
Ah man! Oh well, at least I’ll have the rest of the money for it by then!
Arkham Asylum will be getting a lot of my loving attention through September as it is!
That is a real good looking stick, the button layout sucks but hopefully that can be easily fixed and i don’t know about the back and start buttons but again those can probably be moved as well. I really want a wireless stick that I don’t have to make myself. For $89 this is a must buy, I might get 2…
for $89 Id get 3 … where are you getting this $89 price??! I could have sworn it had a $150 tag on it…
I was looking at Hori mods and noticed that there is a PCB attatched to the buttons, does this mean you couldn’t rotate the buttons to the TE layout? I wonder if this stick will be the same or just a main PCB???
I’m thinking this will be Hori’s new form factors for the real arcade pros, since it does have the 24mm buttons. I do not like the idea of using a dongle, but we shall see.
If you intend to change the layout, you won’t be able to solder the buttons to the PCB again, you’d need to wire it instead.
Stay away from anything Video Game Central has to say! NOBODY buy this bundle from VGC!!! They screwed so many people over on the TE sticks. Read the entire thread dedicated to how bad VGC is:

I don’t think anyone is trying to buy from them as that is a news link and not an option to buy. I was just trying to show that the stick will be 89.99…
That’s why I said for the talentless, my soldering skill leaves much to be desired, messed up the PCB when desoldering my EX2, thankfully it the last four buttons PCB is just a circuit board with no resisters etc, so I had the wires that connected to the main PCB, but couldn’t do that for the X button, so had to find the direct points on the PCB to solder, the end job just screamed piss poor job so no more soldering for me, plus I messed up the Soldering iron too.
But you still have to buy the game with the stick, so it will still cost you $150 each, you can sell the game on Ebay but I doubt after Ebay/paypal charges you’ll make $60, but never know. Unless ofcourse you own both consoles and plan on buying the game for both anyway so it wouldn’t make a difference.
I was wondering what the battery set-up is going to be for this? Is the 360 version going to be compatible with the 360 controller rechargable batteires and charger or is it going to include be notmal AA batteries or something? I would prefer it to be compatible with M$'s battery packs, or even AA batteries, just hope Hori dont make their own battery casing, that would be a bummer.

They assume the game is $60 and since it’s $150, the leftovers would be $90. Either way, you can’t buy the fightstick separately.
Man I guess I thought they were going to sell this seperatly. I too wonder what the battery set up will be like, now that I think of it I might just go ahead and hack a wireless pad and make my own. Thanks for talking me out of it Harry…

Is teh stick rechargeable or do we have to play with batteries? If it’s the latter then, I change my mind, not gonna buy
That’s VGC’s jabronie talk to hype you up on how much of a deal this bundle will be if you buy it (they’re hoping from them). So the stick is not $89, it’s value is undetermined until they offer it by itself. Buy it elsewhere, I promise you VGC will not do right by it’;s customers.:nono:
Me too, I want a wireless stick but only rechargeable. I might just make my own…
I wouldn’t of bought it online anyways, I only buy local. I live in Dallas so it is not that hard to find stuff around here.
