^ same layout for all hori sticks on 360…
except for that one revision of the HRAPEX
Yeah, it’s idiotic. You’d think a Tekken licensed stick would have a layout that works with Tekken’s default settings.
I guess I never took time to look at 360 stick layouts, but seriously what they heck? I don’t even thing that makes sense for SoulCalibur does it?
there is probly going to be an option in the game to change button configs to arcade stick that works perfectly with the stick and the real arcade layout. I wouldnt worry about it. i believe 3d games for 360 have done that in the past, and it matches up with the hori arcade stick layout.

Those buttons look somewhat clunky or more round around the edges like traditional hori buttons to me. Anyone else feel the same?
Sanwa buttons have less shape or are more flat.
I gotta agree. Dark Hais have a flatter black portion on the perimeter.
Damn, I need to make up my mind about this bundle, but… no info…!

They look like Hori clones IMO. The “Start” “Select” buttons in particular look exactly like HRAP hori buttons.
Don’t we all.
On the plus side it looks like it has a good bit of space inside. Come on common ground ps3 pcb, no soldered on components and recharable. Figure hoping for Sanwa parts would be stretching my requests too far.

It should be obvious by now, these are all Hori parts.

Incidentally, I’ve always liked hori stock sticks more than sanwa sticks when it came to tekken. But hori buttons don’t feel as crisp as sanwa.
Any news on the new stick coming out that’s supposed to blow everything out of the water? The one you once referenced on twitter?

It wasn’t a revision.
The American HRAP EX has ABXY in curve like that.
The Japanese HRAP EX has ABXY of square shape in the middle.
For HRAP EX SA, which is only Japanese right now, Button Layout same as American HRAP EX.
For HRAP EX SE, which is Japanese, but American coming out in two months, Button Layout same as American HRAP EX.

^ No, it was a revision. Microsoft forced Hori to change the spec./button layout to conform with the standard Spec./layout.
That’s why you no longer see current manufactured Japanese HRAP EX’s with the original release layout.

Well x_tremer, from how I read his Post, saying that the Japanese HRAP EX was revision.
Which I am saying that it is not, because it was the original HRAP EX?
My Post made it seem like I was saying that the American HRAP EX was not revision.
That was not what I meant.
So did you read Post of x_tremer with another meaning?
Because it doesn’t match with yours.
Or am I reading this wrong?
But the other models changed because Microsoft forced? I didn’t know about the force.
As long as the Japanese HRAP EX being made, it will have the ABXY in square shape, yes?
Just that any Japanese models after the HRAP EX has to use the Layout as same of American HRAP EX?
I guess they wanted it to all be consistent with the Xbox 360 Arcade Sticks from Hori.
All Hori Fighting Stick EX2 (including BlazBlue, Street Fighter IV, Virtua Fighter 5 Live Arena, Dead or Alive 4) the same (ABXY is curve).
Hi as iam new i maybe dont know much about arcade stick except that sanwa parts are apparently the best parts for an arcade stick anyhow i took the time to write hori an email regarding their arcade stick and i just asked if the stick will include a sanwa stick as long it has that iam fine but ill probably buy the bundle anyway cause i need one for visitors but ill wait for an answer from hori for maybe a week lol oh a question whats the deal with the deal with the layout its not that bad lol
How about replacing you ‘lols’ with a full-stops? Makes things easier to read. IMO. lol!
You’re correct about the Sanwa parts, they’re top quality, same goes for Seimitsu.
On topic. I’m looking forward to this stick. Having seen an HRAP in the flesh recently, the size alone is reason enough to make a new revision of the design. Maybe HORI are thinking about their carbon footprint? A new design to replace the EX2 would be just as welcome though. It looks cheap, and then it breaks after a few weeks. This Tekken stick looks sweet.
So today i received an answer from hori (very fast) and they said that i should ask Namco Bandai but i dont think they will answer the question anyway so we will have to wait and see what surprise hori is going to give us ( i hope iam not spamming or anything like that)
just hoping for qd’s is all im doing.
I have one of these on order at my store…not sure what craziness led me to it

I repeat again that I doubt this stick will have QD’s.
I just get a bad feeling that this will be all-Hori parts, soldered-into-the-PCB pushbuttons.
Being this close to release date with no official confirmation of stick components does not seem to indicate the kind of reality most of us would like.
It’s just not in Hori’s M.O. to release a licensed stick with QD buttons.
It was a minor miracle their last few licensed sticks (Hori SF IV, BlazBlu, Arcana Heart 2) had Sanwa joysticks in them. It was an even bigger surprise to me that their Arcana Heart 2 stick had cap socket screws securing its faceplate!
I think MarkMan called this one – all Hori parts.
I’m betting on Hori saving costs by using its own components due to the wireless functionality. Personally, I’m hoping Hori uses a rechargeable battery/pack like the PS3 Dualshock 3 controllers. That will make life easier for most of us. I’d hate to crack open the stick everytime to replace batteries unless they were in an easy to access compartment like a Walkman.
A mod’s not something I want to do in late October but it’s sure looking like this will be another mod job…
