TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion Thread - PS3/XBOX 360 Oct. 27, PSP Nov. 3

Well IIRC you can already make raiden in BR. So…Who knows? All I know is ima make jack into pheonix wright :smiley:

I noticed that bob stands like Jin does that mean he has the same fighting style too? Why would they put in another character that would be too similar to the poster boy we already have?

Because bob is a fuckin pimp. I think ima go back to maining dragunov like I did in dr. Miguel has gotten kinda stale :frowning:

I spent so much damn money on BR today. BROOCE IRVINZ is too good in this one. It was still all about Feng and Ganny though.

I use to play lots of tekken 3 , tag, and 5 when I was in middle school and high school with a bunch of my friends. While I haven’t played in a while, the Devastation 2009 matches got me hyped and I was thinking of getting back into it.

So IYO what do you guys think of Tekken 6? I know they added rage, does that make comebacks that much more easier to make ( like a one combo rape)? I imagine it makes the end of matches more thrilling at least.

Also hows Leo, Bob, and Miguel? They look the most interesting out of the new characters (Lars looks cool but somehow me and mishimas don’t click).

Rage makes it so that both guys can’t screw up. You wouldn’t get a one combo death, but you’d die in about 2 combos, or a good counter(coughcoughPHEONIXSMASHERcoughcough).

The bound system makes it mreh, I just see it as a juggle extension and no big deal, but the way each character is balanced and such, it doesn’t matter because everyone can deal out good damage. Just my two cents.

But I recommend you pick up someone like Leo or Dragonov, or possibly Jin. Those are easy characters who can deal out some good damage from basic combos. When you’re feeling good enough, try upgrading to people like Feng and Bruce and maybe even Kaz. But for the love of your life, AVOID Chreddy, Zafina and other complex characters. Only pick them if you’re really dedicated.

edit: By the way…HENSHIN A GO GO BABY!

Costume is hilarious with the pac man symbol on the front.

That’s cool about the rage. So its not as big as a damage increase as the samsho’s (at least the older ones, didn’t really play the newer ones), of course just relatively not literally (since its just like one good hit).

I might try Leo and such. I used to play a pretty decent asuka and law in tekken 5 so I hope they retained their playstyle at least. I don’t really play mishimas because I get the EWGF and EWHF in practice but in actual play I’m not consistent with them (plus my friends know how to juggle EWGFs in a row, so I’ll just look bad compared to them).

I also never like Christy and Eddy, I remember one time on tekken 5 at a local arcade before it closed down, I pissed off some guy because he used them and I kept parrying their low attacks with d/f. A lot of people who seem to play them don’t seem to know that. :bgrin:

My arcade used to have a T6 machine (Mother fuckers had it at $1.50 a game so it got stale quick when the recession really hit my sate hard) so I got to mess around a bit. The bit I did play, I played Leo and Asuka.

Leo is a solid character, doesn’t take to much to pick up really. Never got to put a lot of playtime into her though. He juggles are easy and damaging, she has counters and her wall damage was solid (Im not sure how she is in BR)

Asuka was my main in 5/5.1/DR and I picked her up in 6. She plays kinda the same. 1+2 is still pretty safe, tracks well. SS+2 isn’t a launcher anymore. It’s the same move as ff+2 in DR (sidesteps and hits with an open palm). It’s fucking pro, a lot of evasion. If I know a Kaz or Bryan or any typical forward poking character is going to try a blockstring, knock em right to the ground. Also, her ff+2 is now the 2nd hit off of the d/f+1,2 (the palm uppercut to face slam). It does RETARDED damage on counter hit with good priority too. Her ground game is still great and you still 50/50 people on wakeup. She is solid IMHO, but she lacks serious wall caries and wall damaging combos. Also her juggles don’t do a lot of damage as is, but her groundgame makes up for it. Though a lot has changed in BR? I have yet to touch it and the arcade took T6 away from me. Atleast BlazBlue will hold me over until Sept.

Aww I never hear you guys talk about Hworang and Jackie Chan, am I the only one who plays as them?

Speaking of Jackie Chan when’s that movie supposed to come out. They don’t have Jackie or his son for the Lei role, so I’m guessing it’s going to stink.

But if you put someone in rage (which is… <10% or <5% of health left IIRC?), while you’re in full health, and he nails two half life combos on you… you deserve to lose.

@Scaves:

Hwoarang:

Hwo (played by MDJ) vs Lili (played by Kane):

Hwoarang Combo Vid (MDJ):

MDJ = Mad Dog Jin. Easily one of the best Hwoarangs in the world.

Lili Combo Vid (Kane - one of the top Lili’s as well, and one of TZ’s “daddy’s”):

Enjoy.

::EDIT::

Found a good Hwo vs Lei match too. MDJ vs Suiken.

Cool vids. Yea MDJ was wreckin people at Devastation at the live stream. I personally tried to learn Hwoarang and Lei before but I never got used to the stances. I often screw up and get stuffed.

@craz
Asuka sounds pretty nice. Can her 1+4 still juggle those who are still slightly off the ground. I remember I could juggle after d/f 1,2 by following up with 1+4. Also I hope she gots her pokes still like d/f 3. So can you juggle after after landing ff 2 (since its the second hit of d/f 1,2)? If I got any of this stuff wrong its because my tekken know-how seems to have rusted a bit.

Mhm, her juggles are basically the same. But really, she has a new string, 2,1,1+2 that bounds. Her bread and butter is now [Launch],2,1 -> 2,1,1+2 [Bound] ff, d/b + 4,3.

Might not be her BB, but that was it when I played 6.
