Yea. I’m suprised Hollywood actually made sense for once(getting Jackie). Both Jackie and Lei are old now. It just makes DAMN SENSE.
Batista is a great King. Hell, as long as he wears a mask and DOES NOT have any speaking roles it’s a win.
To understand Ron Pearlman as Paul Phoenix, you have to be familiar with Ron Pearlman’s work as an actor. This could work, and Pearlman could very well end up actually making Paul cooler than he is. Paul is an old guy now. Give Pearlman the hair, gi OR biker outfit. He doesn’t have to be huge. Plus Pearlman is a mix of comedy and badass, like the character.
Lateef Crowder IS the real life Eddy Gordo.
Nathan Jones IS Marduk, and who they originally based the character on.
Gary Daniels is a decent Bryan.
Luke Goss CAN be a great Steve Fox if they drop the whole “retired boxer now ring announcer” bullshit and give him the blond Steve hair.
Anton Kasabov as Drag is ok. Pale him out and scar him up. There ya go.
Candice Hillebrand as Nina works, only because Hillebrand is hot as fuck.
I don’t like Cung Le as Marshall Law. If though Le is a real fighter, I would’ve preferred a Chinese-American that looked more similar. Its not even hard.
Hyun-kyoon Lee is a decent Hwoarang if they script him right.
Roger Huerta is a cool Mig if they give him the hair. But now I noticed that they changed the character to “The Matador” so this could possibly not even be Miguel at all.
I hope Ian Anthony Dale got swole before playing Kaz. If I glance at the face I can see it, but unless he’s gonna be in “Willy Wonka suit” the whole movie then the bod isn’t as imposing.
I don’t see Shang Tsung as Hei. Sorry.
Kelly Overton as Christie is half-assed. They actually made Christie’s character model from Tyra Banks, so if they didn’t want to get Banks’ annoying ass then why not at least get a light tone black woman that could pass for Brazilian?
I don’t like Marian Zapico as Anna at all. You know how many sexy brunnette actresses could’ve fit this bill?
Darrin Henson as Raven? Seriously. You got the dancing, Soul Food guy as one of the most serious characters in the series? Haha ok. As long as he doesn’t talk, or move, it could possibly work.
I got nothing to say about Gary Ray Stearns as Yoshi because, hell, I’m sure he’d be in a shitload of costume. Or maybe even just mo-cap.
Jon Foo and Tamlyn Tomita as Jin and Jun is just blah. Blah.
I don’t know. Chiaki Kuriyama as Ling Xiaoyu could’ve been a saving grace. You got no Ganryu, which means no adorable sumo for comic relief. No Feng, if just for one part, to shoulder someone through a wall. NO BOOKER T AS ARMOR KING. No Lilli, which would’ve possibly been the EASIEST to cast. No Bruce as expendible black guy to get beat up. No Lee to fuck bitches. No Baek or Wang, which I expected. But I did expect to see a Chang look into the sky and say, “Oh god, something’s brewin” and never be seen again. Hopefully Roger Jr., Kuma, or Panda as CG or character at the zoo. And I’d rather have Asuka than Jun(in this movie! not games!)
That alone is worth watching
