Tekken 5 Its Not That Good

The game like all 3D fighters is great to play casually but once u get into high level tourney bouts…they get resorted to easily abused tacits and cheap trick. These games are by default garbage at the core but great for casual gamers who just want a fight here and there.

Honestly, I disagree that T4 was NOT a let down at all, because Namco tried to make a more different game. Imo, the whole variety in the stages, and the unleveled floors made for some very interesting things, and variety. However, you have people pissing and moaning about “change”, then you have idiots saying that their isn’t enough juggles in T4 and that it’s too hard to do juggles in T4. T5 comes and you have idiots who say the juggles are too easy, wtf…isn’t that what you complainers wanted anyways? I really don’t like it, because T4 was a great game, however everyone didn’t seem to give it a try, because it was different from TTT…thus it wasn’t good…again, wtf. I can see that the balance issues where slightly bad with T4 Jin’s JFLS/Parry/2,1’s/WallPush BS, Lee’s SS+2/Mist Step(<—I loved and miss that mist step), Ling’s AOP, but it wasn’t that bad of a game overall, the only character that I could see who would have guarantee damage with little to no consequences was Jin, other than that, the game was great IMO, also, they had a great SS system, I feel T5’s SS game is pretty pathetic, even TTT’s SS system felt better, imo.

Anyhow, comparing VF4 to T5, although they share similar qualities, they are very different games. T5 has a more surrealitic reality to it, while VF4 keeps a very realistic realization to their game, their game engines also differ from one another as well. VF4 requires more effort and learning into raising your lvl of play, which is what it was built for, its a huge learning curve. Where as T5, the learning curve is much easier to learn, however to reach a high lvl also involves a huge effort, alas something called a frame data  . These two have very different idea’s and I feel that it’s very unfair to say that one is better than the other. T5 is more newbie friendly and more random, however it does require skill to achieve a high lvl of play, even Steve who is one of the most or probably the most abused character in T5, only a handful can play Steve to a top tier lvl status, alas NIN is probably the most dominant Steve players of all time, even in T4 he was a monster Steve player. 5.0 is pretty balanced, some characters from the upper to mid can hold solidly up against SBN. Also, balance should NEVER be an issue to consider how good a game is unless it totally is unbalanced, however 5.0 is not within that terrain…stuff like SvC…now that’s messed up and effed to be played right at all. In reality, is anything “balanced” hell no, and I don’t see why it should be a contradiction to a game, which is made by “non-perfect” homo sapiens, again, unless it turns out to a crap game like SvC then there should be reasonable complaints.

I like T5 more, just because it’s more fun for me, VF4 is great, however, I don’t feel as much fun for playing it as I do with T5. Oh yes, btw, about gamefaqs, well I find their forums rather “weird” at times, especially when you have people saying that Steve was God Tier in T4 and that he could flat out beat Ling and Lee in T4 with a huge margin  …I always felt that Ling and Lee actually stood a very good chance up against Steve, please if I’m wrong on that last comment, someone educate me.

t5 is hotness

watching this korean 3 on 3 t5.1 vid, i think t5.1 is fucking awesome and everyone who jumped up to claim it was going to be garbage is retarded

nin, kidjin, knee, piglaw, hbmaster, and dunno who the guy without a card is

check out nin winning not because of his character but because of his skill

You’re fucking retarded. How is what you described different from any other game in general ever played competitively period?

Its a known fact that 3D games are more inclined to be random, less cordinated and just plain sloppy. Mmost great 3D fighters just come donw to mindless button mashing for combos that take little effort but give great reward…and if u think im lying just pick Nina,Bryan or Steve in T5. Hell put two 5 yeard olds who like touching stuff in front of Soul Calibur 2 and u have yourself a tourny match.

Dont start any shit buddy. I could name so many screwed up 2d fighters that your head would spin.

People who don’t know what they’re talking about shouldn’t talk about it.

k thx.

wow youre fucking STUPID

…hey dont be pissed at me for the flaws of these games, i didnt make them. I cant help it if most 3D games just are incredibly unbalanced and screwed up…unless steve is really a hard character to use or something(yeah right). dont worry though i wont discourage u from your DOA’s and mortal kombat deception and stuff…some people prefer skill and quality over smoke and mirrors. Dont worry i wont start shit because ill name the games myself…lets see most of the SNK fithers and MVC2 and CVS2…but i never claimed these games where great unlike people saying SC2 and T5 our the best fighter of our time.

CvS2 had poor balance now? Then what the fuck counts as balanced? Just ST?

Come to think of it, I guess VF4 would too…oh wait, it’s 3D!

You’re a fucking moron.

Developers aren’t goin’ to please everybody, they do their best, we just have to accept or decline them.

Rik: Correct me if I am wrong. You are arguing that 3D fighters suck because:
-They are easy to get into.
-At higher levels of play, players win by making use of the chosen character’s advantages and nuances in the game.
-Players win by being as unpredictable as they can make themselves.

?

Since the last two are also the case with 2D fighters I think the reason behind your opinion of 3D fighters is because you have no local competition(or just can’t find them) and are basing all this off of gameplay with casual players.

I used to think like you actually. I was all like “3D fighters are scub fighters”. Then I picked up T5 and tried to seriously get into it. Then I shut my mouth. Have you tried T5 seriously? It’s like giving yourself a stranger.

Almost forgot about this.
