How so? Well, considering you shouldn’t be catching anyone with the initial grab anyway, unless they were doing something dumb at the time, you’re not missing anything.

king’s multi throws are useless in every tekken they are in unless you’re playing newbs.

penn state > all other PA schools, sorry!
is there going to be another teatime? i know i say this every year, but i actually might head down if i have time. I got a small fighitng game community, so we could split the gas money now. lol
T3 is all about Paul, one ch phoenix smasher takes half life.
ch 4 with law used to be wasup
i dunno. a lot of people graduated/left and some are still in school/live there. might want to check in at the state college pa thread.
Tekken 3 = Cheap as fuck.
Law punch parry
Ogre 1
King’s cheapness
Lei’s goodies
Running 3 for everyone
It’s a good kinda cheapness though, every char had some.
I like how running 3 > CPU for time attack. lol 3, run, stop then 3 for tech catch, repeat again for KO
or 4 for some people
If I’m not mistaken, back in T3, Law had his 3,4, if 3 connected, 4 was guaranteed, and that shit could lead to half life juggles which was just downright gay. B+1,2,1 imo is the best version of any Law, and punch parry was pretty gay in T3 as well.
Imo, I say Heihachi was the Top Dog in Tekken 3, Hellsweeps that couldn’t be low parried or stun blocked making them pretty retarded, solid juggles, 1,1,2, great wavedash options and the #1 best move in T3 in Mid hitting WGF.
Tekken3 was pretty busted, but still was a fun game for it’s time.
i personally was very found of the cpu glitch where it ate uf N 3 stuns alll day long
Man, I thought Jin was busted in T3. EWGF, SS+2, WS+2 -> b,f+2,1,2 df+4,4 is 60% on our arcade here. He’s also go any sweep to 1+4,2,ff+2.
kings multithrows are not completely useless. thats why each multithrow, has either a 1 break or a 2 break, and the trick is to learn how to mix it up on your opponent. when he thinks your going for a 1 break multithrow, you do the 2 breaker, and his intial multi throws are either a 1,2,or 1+2 break, but in all honesty, it is slightly random, and not really that hard to break out of once the sequence begins, but trust me, you can catch people in kings multi throws. why? because most people dont play king. so that means, most people dont get alot of play time against him, so when i bust out a multi throw, your gonna be mashin the shit out of buttons and thats not always so affective.
kings biggest killer is his mix ups. cd in, and you can do just about anyone of his throws or multi throws, also, you could do a mid kick, mid double hand smasher, which is sexy on counter hit, mid launcher upercut, low poke. he has alot of mix up options, and a good king player will have you bugged the hell out, because if you wanna be cute and duck alot, because you think king is all about throws and thats all you need to fear, then he will crouch throw your silly ass. trust me. king can be a monster, if you use him right, and take the time and dedication it takes, to master his mixups.
i wish they didnt close down our arcade here in annapolis. there was a dude that played king real good, and i wish i could have seen him stand up to some more competition. he just would come in with his like 6 kids(lol) and sit down and own. last i saw him, was on dr, and he was losing to devil jin a couple times(a good devil jin player), then raped. its so nice to see king just consistently rape, and watch the opponent fear kings next move. also nice to see noobies get caught in the rolling death cradle.
king is a real solid character, that gets little respect, and thats good, becaues when you play a good one, you dont know what the fuck to do
No they are completely useless, if you just mash on 1 and 2 repeatedly you will break 99 percent of his holds.
Any time King crouchdashes you hopkick. Period. He didn’t become scary until TTT/T4. There’s only 2 multis that you can cancel the CD off of, and they’re both short with easy breaks if you try for max damage. The moves you can cancel that CD with are slow(Axe handle) or not really much of a mixup(ws+4). The 5 part multis all start with an uncancellable, slow CD. This is coming from a King player, mind you. He wasn’t shit until he got scarier normals/iSW/better launchers.
your obviously a scrub. non of his multi throw breaks can be broken with 1+2. only one intial multi throw starter is broken that way. i guess you mean, 1 or 2, and you can try smashing 1 or 2 repeatedly if you want, and your gonna miss your frame to hit the correct one and get fucking owned by it. most people go for his high damaging multi throws, just for kicks, because its assumed you will probably break out of it anyway, so why not do as much damage as possible if they get caught, but it can be mixed up.
for example. his ss 2+4, d/f 1+2, d/f, d/f 2+4, multi throw starter, can go into either a 1 or 2 break multithrow combo, and can end with either 1 or 2 break, final throw. plus his d/f 1+2, 2,2, 1+2, is free, cant break out until after the 2,2,1+2, but at that point you have to decide which link im going into, is it a 1 or 2 break, and trust me, mashing on both buttons is not going to guarantee you to break my link. thats like saying, when someone throws you, just mash on the buttons, and any seasoned player knows you cant do that and get consistent throw breaks on opponents.
his multi throws serve there purpose, especially since most opponents do not know how to break out of his shit, and will just keep mashing in the hopes that they will eventually break out. ive seen some people tryin to break out of that long ass jaguar step multi throw link, by mashing, and they just got trashed.
kings game isnt about multi throws anyways. so it doesnt matter. they are just there for show, but are still very capable of catching people off guard. talk shit all you want, but i can assure you, unless you play kings so much, that you can hear the different input in the buttons of the person next to you, or your psychic, you will get caught up in the multi throw nonsense.
its a 50/50 guessing game on which input to use, to break out of which throw. its not a constant mixup. that would make his links to godly and to hard to break out of, but i still have a 50/50 chance of pulling off the opposite of what you think im doing, and gettin my link on. you think im going for the damaging 2 break link, off of the d/f 1+2 multi starter, and i bam i go break 1 on you, but you can just mash out of all his links, so what am i talking about
i can tell you have no room to speak on the subject. you suck. go play some good kings
If I remember the tier listings that they had for T3 for TZ awhile back about Tekken3, I remember it went somewhere along the lines of…
Top
Hei
Ogre
Law
Upper
Jin
That’s all I can remember, lmao…shoot it’s been like…freaken forever…at least this is what I do remember if I’m correct on my memory…oh well’s, it looks decent to me with at least where the 4 characters where placed.
king still has regular throws he can go into, off of the cd and although those other to normals he has off of cd, are slow, they can still be affective for mixups. king doesnt play cd mixup like the mishimas do, and you rarely see anyone doing cd mixups with king, but he has them, and can be used to his advantage. bad habit to always hopkick, when you see a cd come in. i stop then block, and own. hes not a mishima, ld infront of your face like an asshole, and still hit you. so if you play his cd mixup game like that, you may get hurt, he doesnt have anything super quick to rape you with, but if you play the mixup game right and you have your opponent fearing what you will do next, then when king comes in wd across the board, you will freeze waiting to see what to do next. you cant just stand there, but if you do somethin stupid, you might get punished. hard
i dont know the exact frame data on the cd 1+2, and cd, d/f, 1+2, but i know king players will also cancel into the ff,n, 1+2 for plus 2 frames and mixup with that, out of cd, but if spaced properly, the cd,d/f 1+2 is good and safe
anyways. kings cd game is just as much about spacing and mixup, just like mishimas, but theirs is better than his, but he does have a mixup game out of cd, and his multis are not complete trash
If memory serves me I thought Human Ogre was top in T3. I remember 4 and SS 4 being beastly but later toned down in TTT. 4 having less speed, range, priority, and SS 4 turning into his new sweep move.
thats what i figured. thx
heh. Ogre and True Ogre were beastly in T3 as well.
