^Not that I disagree with you but at the same time it is not like it has been even 50 years yet since the peak of the CRM. So yep all of that just went POOOF
Racial issues were heavily stoked by the fact that, early on, it appeared that the cops let Zimmerman off scot-free, whereas it’s difficult to imagine them doing the same if a black man with a gun had shot an innocent white kid.
I didn’t really think of that until you mentioned it, but I was mainly referring to people/media implying Zimmerman may be a racist just because he is “white” and Martin was black. Or maybe that never happened at all and I’m just retarded. I’ll admit I haven’t been watching this case until very recently.
‘…it’s difficult to imagine them doing the same if a black man with a gun had shot an innocent white kid.’
yet it happened (link)
given the laws it was only a mtter of time before statistics allowed a black to be killed by a white under a SYG-type law, leading peoples of the perspective they are oppressed to riseup/ (while the inverse rose no eyebrow). The race card being played bycertain groups is an unfortunate distraction (even if GZ was a racist -hence the clock comment), since it allows an out for the object of their ire, and could prove more harm than good in general.
so many things have happened to me where if I was black hell would be raised on my behalf. I am still sufferring right now, spending money to right wrongs done unto me by those that serve and protect (though I was wearing a hoodie that one time).
wheres my community?
im still alive though, will people claim this itself as evidence of my racial makup?
Sigh…
So Zimmerman ‘apologizes’ to parents saying “I thought he was a little bit younger than I am.”
But at 1:10 he tells the dispatcher he thinks Martin is in his “late teens”.

That Zimmerman…ever the beacon of honesty. Surely we can assume he’s being absolutely truthful about everything.
…or he’s a liar who can’t get his stories straight.
I didn’t say that it couldn’t happen, and the fact that it did happen does not make people wrong for assuming that it is more likely to happen the other way around.
I was also not evaluating whether or not the outrage over this is good or just, but simply offering a logical explanation for it: people became angry because a white killer of a black person seemed to receive easy treatment by a criminal justice system that is biased in favor of whites, against blacks. It is more than just the simple fact that a white person killed a black person.
It’s possible that he has a poor memory of that evening.
Nevertheless, he probably remembers what Martin looked like.
hahaa
no
you said it was difficult to imagine…
meaning that you prob couldnt even picture police treating the reverse situation the same
given evidence of the exact situation that you were incapable of imagining; you probably can not tell me that you remain unable to imagine it.
cmon man, its easy to see why I posted that link
hahaa
Right. Difficult to imagine. It seems to be an unlikely, improbable scenario. Not given to happening very often.
And in the context of me hypothesizing about the mindset that led to public outrage, not me describing my personal thoughts and feelings. I doubt this was excessively difficult to comprehend, given that I specifically used the passive voice and avoided the first person perspective–two clear indicators that I wasn’t talking about myself.
There are a lot of synonyms for “difficult”. “Impossible” is not one of them.
To recap:
-
I was not describing my personal thoughts and feelings about the situation.
-
“Difficult” =/= “impossible”.
To recap, once again:
-
I was not describing my personal thoughts and feelings about the situation.
-
“Difficult” =/= “impossible”.
I can think of a couple reasons.
wow
semantics?
and you apparently like to see yourself type hahaa no need to repeat yourself 2X in the same post
lets say instead of:
I said:
i have no clue why my post has drawn you so far out of your goal
it was innocent enough
Aren’t you a sciency-type person? Shouldn’t you be one of the first people to understand why semantics is important? Particularly when distinguishing between “improbable” and “impossible”–which, I remind you, you intermixed freely in your previous post?
When I said it was “difficult to imagine”, I was not requesting counterexamples. I am aware that it has happened before. It’s a big world and a lot of unlikely stuff happens in it. That is neither here nor there.
not at 3am up in tha lab
the juice of my argument is what is important
not really. both variants have the word ‘probably’ prominently and deliberately featured. I was just trying to humor you by modifying the sentence. And the OG post was swimming in ‘probably’ s
that statement was just begging for counterexamples
Then why are you on the Internet at all? You should be watching cultures grow in a petri dish or something. Actually, I can see why you’d be on the Internet.
Perhaps in the same sense that Lisa Simpson saying “What is the sound of one hand clapping?” demanded that Bart clap using the fingers and palm of one hand.
