Spike Lee re-tweeted some random Joe’s tweet which was sent to a bunch of celebrities in hope of making the public eye. But yeah, Spike Lee also falls into that category.

It’s a combination of two things. One is the childish neurosis that someone has to be either a saint or a sinner, which many people retain well into adulthood. We like to build our heroes up to a point where the reality can’t possibly match the image. Once we start seeing flaws, even eminently forgivable ones, we tear them down to nothing. Supposedly, growing up is supposed to help us deal with the emergent knowledge that nobody is perfect and imperfect people can still be worthy. Supposedly.

The second is something I already spoke about, which is the “blame the victim” mentality. It makes us more secure to assure ourselves that Martin did something to bring this upon himself. As long as we don’t do that thing, we can assure ourselves that what happened to Martin won’t happen to us. It also makes us more secure to believe that bad things happen to bad people, and vice versa, rather than things happening essentially at random without respect to how good or bad we’ve been.

Both of those things, keeping with the theme of your post, are highly irrational.

I’ve seen it with a lot of friends, I saw it in the case of school bullying where the bullied kid finally snapped and the parents were painting their son as some sort of angel. Based on the recent additions to the case. Here’s my speculation. Remember it’s just a theory.

George Zimmerman drives towards Target.
GZ sees TM on the backpath and gets out of his car and follows him w/ the loaded gun on person.
2a.GZ calls the police soon after leaving vehicle.
2b. Dispatcher suggests to GZ to stop following TM.
2c. GZ says “okay” but ignores suggestion.
TM realizes GZ is following him while on phone w/ girlfirend.
TM tells her he’s being followed.
Girlfriend suggests TM run, but TM ignores suggestion.
GZ catches up to TM, GZ asks what’s he ™ doing back here.
7.TM basically says "none of your business"
8.GZ threatens to call the police.
9.TM throws punch at GZ and knocks him down.
GZ is physically assaulted by TM for around 20-30 seconds.
During the scruffle, TM sees gun and tries going for it, GZ yells for help.
GZ is suddenly able to swap positions with TM (roll), GZ gains upper hand.
GZ shoots TM while TM calls for help.
Girl Witness sees GZ straddling TM, GZ is probably checking for a pulse or something.
15.Girl Witness calls police,
GZ uses cellphone and calls daddy.
Daddy gets hookup with Sanford PD.
18, Sanford PD arrives, GZ overexaggerates his story.
GZ gets booked into Police station, and is let go because of lack of evidence and daddy hookup.

That all sounds plausible except for the fact that it doesn’t sound like two different people calling for help.

Phone records are gonna be a bitch though. If you’re right about GZ calling his dad and then him calling the chief of police (which is also what I think happened) then shit’s gonna hit the fan. The scenario you describe doesn’t quite paint GZ as a murderer, but with that I still think it’s wrongful death seeing as his actions provoked the scuffle which led to someone dying unnecessarily. What’s gonna suck for GZ if all of that is true is that if it looks like shit was covered up he may ironically do more time than he would have otherwise without his dad’s help.

If the medics can confirm they attend some medical attention then this video is null…If there are no medical attention & it was Treyvon screaming for help then Zimmerman is fucked…

I think the reason why people are talking about the video is because of the factors surrounding medical attention. Actually I don’t know who said anything about it? Did he say he got it, did the police say it? I’ve heard “broken nose” but I don’t know from where.
