Doesn’t work with Phoenix Wright, who has all three combinations.
Interesting, but it’ll result in a lot of mistaken throws. Also, there’s the problem of S QCF attacks like Nemesis’ rocket.

I believe the general consensus is that the throw command in (U)MvC3 is not preferred; however, this is Capcom’s game and until there’s a drop in profits regarding gameplay itself (Or… Something major) there won’t be any ‘base mechanic’ changes.
Just like SFIV…Capcom is not going to change anything revolving the basics of this game. They made the game the way they wanted it to work for a reason and that’s the way it’s going to stay. There were threads like this during the Vanilla SFIV days about the laundry list of things people wanted to get changed about SFIV. Did Capcom ever budge? No…they made the game the way they wanted and that’s pretty much it
. The only thing they did to change the game revolved around the characters but you’ll pretty much have to hold Niitsuma hostage before he changes any of the basic gameplay mechanics.
We’ll see if having a player behind the wheel as opposed to a million dollar company brings out the perfect fighting game.
Come on Skullgirls. Make me proud.
Ryu, Storm, Doom, and Akuma also have a -1 on block S. Storm’s is also huge. Ammy’s is -2
Haggar’s is 0 on block. Same with Dark Phoenix
Turnabout PW is +3
Denjin Ryu is +2
Vergil’s can be chained into Upper Slash
People act like Wesker has the only safe launcher in the game.
Wouldn’t be hard to add directional inputs to cover all 3 evidence slots with a single set of buttons. +:l:+:s:, :l:+:s:, :f:+:s:. Omg it’s magic, you freed up 2 button combinations.
Smart bombs worked like this in MvC2.
Ultimately (see what I did there?) we could have avoided all this if Capcom hadn’t used the moronic :l:, ,:h: ,:s: button scheme. :s: is such a waste of a fucking button :annoy:.
If you’re good at the game safe launchers are the last thing you’re worried about. Most good characters can hit confirm easily into cancellable moves that give them more options than mashing on S any way. Zero never needs to hit S ever, X-23 never needs to hit S ever (I’ll take my +12 on block s.H instead), Dante never needs to hit S (jump cancellable low launcher? cool) etc.
Wait what, they did? Fuck this game… Stupid Shoryuken inputs are the reason I whiff online/hyper cancel my specials so much.
