Teams that are "looking" strong thus far..(strictly theory fighting)

First of all, characters in this game have much more of a use than just being an assist. That alone invalidates your whole point.

When just about everyone can do a little something the focus isnt to just find the best assist for two already good characters, I’d take a team of 3 with 2 good assists than a team of 2 with 1 great assist.

Furthermore if you havent seen at this point that assist spam will be just as vital to winning in this game as it was in the last one, we dont have much the discuss. Er rather…you dont have much of a leg to stand on.

Well, Voluptous then. And Curves will have Morrigan.

The team I’m most interested in trying out is Arthur/Dormammu - pillar assist/Amaterasu - Ice Shot assist

Start with Arthur and use his array of projectiles plus Ammy’s excellent assist to keep the opponent locked down at a distance. Use Dormammu if they get in closer to push them back out. Build up a bunch of meter as Arthur, then switch Dormammu in and blow meter on Floating Bombs or Chaotic Flames. After either super, he can generally get 1-3 hand buffs, so access to meteor shower a couple times is fairly doable. Besides her assist, Ammy is also there for DHC into elements super, and she has that whip that can be annoying and keepaway, too.

Its fine to have an opinion, but when you have something that totally contradicts said opinion I don’t know what to say.

I mean one of THE best assists in MvC2 (Cap Corridor) is easily outmatched by Jam Session. Not only is it the same “get off me” assist as CapCor., it hits multiple times and doesn’t knock them sky high and away giving you the ability to combo out of (and into) it and apply some mean ass pressure. Its better than CapCor in pretty much every way.

Rocks is Rocks; Is there need for explanation? Also don’t get me started on how beastly (no pun intended) Cold Stars is. Thor’s Might Smash, Skrull’s Stone Smite…

But yea, your opinion…

I think what he is saying is that he hasn’t seen or thinks that assists in this game will be in the same vein as in mvc2. Say for example on the level of Strider with Doom, which immensely raises Striders capabilities. I don’t think he’s saying anything about characters being in the “assist only” category, but rather having the same impact as in mvc2.

Take for example Morrigan in mvc2. Generally, she is considered a low tier character. However put her on the right team, she can be boosted immensely(for example Tron + Morrigan can produce some magnus level shit). I haven’t seen assists boost characters like this so far either because everyone looks good on point and nobody has gotten to really sit down and test shit out, but I think eventually assists may boost characters like Strider/Doom did.

You know why? Because the game isn’t even out yet…

Well we will see as time go on but so far Peekaboo for Ammy, Jam Session for Wesker, and Samurai Edge for almost everyone are great and really make those assists feared imo

Im actually liking Storm/xxx/Viper if seismo will allow for a launch easily. Put Doom in there or Dante and that is not a bad team.

For that rush down I believe the team to beat is Wesker/X-23/Deadpool. Build meter quick, OTGS, combo heavy. Yea. I think I found my team.

Fot straight rushdown? IDK cuz Keepaway DP>>>>>>Rushdown DP. Although his SRK >magic>E> Samurai Edge assist/Katanarama>SRK>magic>E>Samurai edge>Guns hyper looks cool

Nitro Noodlez that was exactly my point. Any of you please show me an assist that considerably boosts a character like psy does for Mag. Probably as time goes on, yeh sure who knows but like I am sayin, as of now- no way.

Claiming Jam session outclasses captain corridor is ludicrous. Its ability to combo is better, but no way is jam session gonna be interupting sloppy blockstrings or even punishing your opponents whiffed assist anytime soon.

Assists are much more easier to stop this time round they don’t even work the same way, do not come out as fast or recovers as fast as they do in MvC2, if you have played any build so far and say anything different- you are kidding yourself.

The only thing that even comes close to a “great” assist that you would find in Mvc2 is Doom rocks and even then, all people can come up with so far is teleport shenanigans.

Ok then don’t get pissed when ppl are fucking you over when the game comes out

Viper/X-23 is going to be EPIC. And I dont even want to play either of them.

Keepaway:
Storm/MODOK/Doom

Rushdown:
X-23/Viper/Wesker

Those 2 teams seem very solid, and the first one could substitute ant of them for Trish (probably Storm) In the Rushdown team, Viper could be replaced with Storm. But screen covering burning kicks plus X-23 low hitting assist just calls for shenanigans.
My team right now looks like: Zero/Storm/Dante

It’s still early, and we haven’t completely seen these characters in players hands, but here’s some fun speculation.

Storm/(Trish or Ironman)/Dante - The New Age Thrax, so to speak. Fundamental based team, with a huge versatility of Rush down and Run away, with great space control, and some easy DHCs/X factor combos nearing 100%. Also Dante Corridor =)

Magnus/(Zero or C.Viper)/Doom - The new RTSD team. Doom rocks to help lock people down. Tri jumps. Anything else?

Deadpool/Dormmamu/Doom - Basic keep away team with Doom rocks/rockets to help zone. Easy hit confirms(from fullscreen) into supers.

Just some thoughts.
