Team Portland Metro Roster

Since somebody said this was the Portland area thread, this seems to be the best place to post this. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to make it to the Portland Tilt sometime this weekend. I’ll be the kid in the green Volcom or Skjersaas (ski shop) shirt. I’ll play anything, but since there’s no Super Turbo cab, I’ll suck at everything.

anyone know a place(like a sports bar or hooters) that deffinitly shows UFC Pay Per Views? ive called a couple bars and local hooters but so far no luck. so if anyone knows a place they show UFC forsure id really appreciate the help.

buffalo wild wings.

a lot of bars downtown do ufc events.

Mmm. Buffalo Wild Wings.

That sounds good.

thanks man ill call them right now, if anyone else knows the names/#s of any places that show UFC ill try other suggestions too, nice to have a back up.

Can I Kick it? - Meet me at Versis on Thursdays

Competitive - SF4, HDR and VF5.

Casual - 3S, CvS2, SC4, ST, Tekken.

Here’s the suggestions:

1: All players should post what games they play competitively or casually rather than have a bunch of games listed.

2: All players should have a brief history as described by another person. Here’s one for FatBear:

FatBear - Joined the scene at 15(?). Entered the VF4 tourneys at Lloyd Center Tilt. Started playing 3S shortly after using Makoto with mild success. EVO the same year, probably got inspired to train harder to become one of the top 3S and Cvs2 players in the NW. Learning SF4 now, so watch out! Can be strong in any game he puts his mind to.

Lastly, Versis needs to be put on the Gatherings/Arcade section.

Can I Kick it? - Probably more so this summer as school is kicking my ass but I am around…

Competitive - SF4, CVS 2, GG

Casual - Everything, I play all sorts of stuff and Im mildly versed in pretty much every fighting game you’ve heard of (well save a few thingst that weren’t emulated around when I was messing with emu’d games last year)… haha but don’t expect great things just general knowledge.

Umm Biography thing: Mark Webb (hellsap)
Played KOF and other fighting games on mame and other emulators foreverrr went to psu and met other people who were interested in fighting games, mashed his way to victory in the psu arcade scene for awhile, lead to the joining of the megagamers club where he found people to try and teach gg to. People became interested Hellsap had finally found his niche, he continued to play other games but GG remains the only mainstream game where he holds much sway. Will he ever get over the stigmatism of being a keyboard scrub? Can he take Dan to the next level in SF4 keep watching to find out.

Anyone whose history you seem to know alot of. Their beginnings, up to their current status.

Can you Kick It: Yeah, i Started a thread awhile ago about my place being open but hardly anyone took advantage b/c people are lazy thinking my place is far,

Competitive: SF4,HDR,ST,VF5,TTT,

Casual: Anything else thats not Guilty/Arcana/Melty trash

Biography of Another: RayBladeX. The one that brought me into the NW SRK scene and pretty much responsible for most of my talents and knowledge of the Fighting game world. Famous for his Heart attack dogs. One of coolest and easily one of the most underrated talents in SRK History. PProbably has performed the best out everyone at EVO outside of Seattle Marvel standings wise. Pretty much one of the chillest guys i know.

Can I Kick it? - I’m super broke, but I try to make it to local tournaments and other gatherings when possible. Gonna start hitting up Versis once I get cash flow again.

Competitive - SF4 and HDR.

Casual - VF5, 3S, SC4, KoF2002, MvC2, and SFA3.

I don’t know anyone well enough to tag with a bio, and I’m not sure anyone knows me well enough to get me back.

yeah i dont think i know anyone well enough to do a bio either, but i just moved to portland like 7-8 months ago so i guess thats to be expected. but the first SRK players i met and played with were actually Kiets and Arsenal over in Wi, who took me to my first SF tournament where i planed to play 3s on a controller lol good thing there wasent enough people so i dident have to lose my money haha.

In this case, i’d post the following:

1: When/where you started playing competitively/casually.
2: High/low points in your tourney/casual matches.
3: Your first tournament experience.
4: Anyone you might’ve “trained” under/with.

Also, if a player is in this forum (like Kiets or Asenal), maybe they could do a history report for you?

Can I Kick it? - I go to Versis every Thurs

Competitive - SF4 (If you can call my scrubby Ryu competitive)
Casual - VF5 (I just picked this game up and don’t have much of a clue what I am doing)

I am new to the community and really don’t know anyone. So I can’t give a bio of anyone. I look forward to getting to know you guys better though!

I’ve been going to Versis every week for the past month or so. This is the first time I have tried to play a fighting game seriously. I played Super Street Fighter on the SNES a long time ago but mainly against the CPU.

As for non-fighting game related info about myself, I moved out to Portland about 2 and a half years ago from Massachusetts. Aside from gaming my other main hobby is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I have been training for over 3 years now.

I am on xbox live most nights for atleast an hour, so feel free to add me to your friends list and shoot a game invite!

i’ll get this updated soon, been busy with a few things Kurt. I’ll have some time this week to get this list all the way up.

sounds good

ZzZzZz…

I’m sensing a subtle message here, Kurt.

Tomorrow night or this weekend… wanna get some matches in? I’ve got a big ol’ paper to write today, so I won’t have time until then.

But I’m ready to get some crazy practice in. Last time I was playing, I was practicing a lot with Akuma and loving some of his chains.

just tryin to keep this thread on the first page lol, yeah ill try to get on fri-sun evenings and see if your on or w/e. after playing so many kens and ryus i think respect akuma players more lol.

Ken is still my mainstay, but I hear ya. I haven’t played much at all lately thanks to being bus with school, but I’m quite excited to get back to it now.

If you get on championship mode on xbl i mostly always see blanka, blanka, blanka, bison, blanka, balrog, blanka, balrog, balrog, balrog, bison, bison, ken & ryu… And sometimes blanka…

BTW ggs w/ your Akuma Kendrik
