Right on. I’m trying to learn Morrigan. I’ve been playing Morrigan/Hulk/Tron.
I think Morrigan/Tron is pretty well documented. Some highlights:
- throw into tron
- airthrow into tron
- using Tron to link DI
- using Tron for blockstun and crossing up afterwards/in the middle.
- multiple crossups into Tron assist
Plus the normal b.s. that tron is good for…countercalls, stuffing capcom, just sitting out there clogging up the middle of the screen forever, just adding 1/3 of a lifebar damage to any combo, etc.
For this team, launch, 1,2,3,4 XX Silhouette Blade DHC into Gamma Crush gets one of those glitched double crushes for Gamma Crush, doing about 90% damage to Cables. Add Tron to the front of that and it kills pretty much everyone except for Sent, who will have only pixels of life left. I pretty much x-copied this from Mike Z vids, except using Morrigan instead of Magneto.
Match openers:
- Glitched S.LP + Tron, jump forward. S.LP is 2 frames, beating most everything, and it stops people from jumping out, forcing them to block Tron while I jump over them for a crossup. If Tron is connecting, you can Shell Pierce XX Shell kick, launch into air combo.
- Jump straight up LP + Tron. Beats any low shorts & acts as an instant overhead…no Sj flash to tip them off to block high >:)
Also, I’ve never had this lose to any other jumping attack at the beginning of the match. It seems to catch jumping opponents even when they try to block. Assuming they just block it, they have to block Tron too, and Morrigan can airdash over them to protect Tron. This loses to high jabs but beats low ones, in my experience.
- C.LK + Hulk, C.LK, S.HP. I don’t use this much, only after I’ve trained them to block high at the beginning of a match, cuz her C.LK doesn’t beat many things. If it connects, you can rejump and catch them with J.LP,J.MP,J.MK, then land at the same time as them & go for throw into Tron. Or you can aircombo directly off of Hulk-B or do the character specific infinite.
Whew…that sounds like a lot, but it all happens in under a second =\ Assuming anyone cares, I could write more, but I think I’ll stop now. I just started, I’d like to hear from someone who’s been playing her for a while.
Good stuff, Death.
Yeah, Morrigan/Tron IMO is one of the mid-tier’s best duos. It’s also good that you’re using someone obscure (Hulk) to round the team out. His strength can be an asset if used well…
I’ve mainly been using her with Rogue, but I’ve also been trying her out with Wolverine (Bone claw) y and Sentinel y.
Wolverine starts out, has Morrigan as AA and Sent as lockdown assist. Wolvy has the speed to cover the ground, and he can setup his super well with Sent’s assist. Wolvy on point IMO builds up meter fast, especially with an assist like Sent-y.
DHC into Soul Eraser, then DHC into HSF to have Sent out in the field.
Do some lockdown with Sent and Wolvy’s assist.
Once Sent dies, Wolvy does rushing with Morrigan’s AA, sets up for his super, then DHC into DI.
With Wolvy’s assist, Morrigan rushes does combos, simply that.
I think Wolverine should be last because he sets up the DHCs well, and his assist can benefit both Sent and Morrigan…
Anyway, as bad as it is, this was just something I learned yesterday. I want to develop more with Morrigan-based teams now, so next week, I might put Mags/Psy/Morrigan to the test…
Wind - I honestly don’t know where you can find the vid, but ask around. I’m sure someone else might.

Another team idea came to me yesterday:
Cammy(Dash)/Doom (AA)/Morrigan (AA)
I actually like this team more than most of my other consipired duos, almost as much as my main teams.
Cammy is already a fast character, and with Doom’s rocks, she can cover more ground. Morrigan’s AA can cover any rush-happy people because of its quick appearance.
Morrigan/Doom - They were pretty much covered in the General Strategy thread, but just to reiterate a small portion…
-
Morrigan’s throw into an assist in itself is goodness. Add to the fact that it is an assist like Doom, who can take off a portion of life with his rocks.
-
Morrigan can OTG after tripping and calling Doom, and you can have a possible DI if timed well, then DHC into Doom or Cammy (If Morrigan is point character).
Doom works with Cammy’s Dash assist and Morrigan’s AA. He can actually do both rushdown and keepaway using Cammy and Morrigan because the assits can both keep people at bay and help set combos up. Also, should Morrigan be last (which I actually recommend), Doom’s AC into Super Photon Shots DHCed into DI does a sizable amount of damage.
