Only thing I can think is to contact Steam Support directly.
I did once, and after some ranting…I got my answer.

BTW, next month I’m gonna lower the slots on the server to 12…seeing that I can always get my 24+ slot match fix on pub servers I go to…and that alot of you prefer smaller teams…and takes some load off my expenses.

Also, I’m down for some scrims this weekend…I think I have the custom map thing fixed, and may throw in some custom maps like Warpath or PL Dustbowl.

July 29th update…

Backburner loses the health bonus…oh well, I prefer the regular flamethrower.

woah, major blow to all the pyros out there…

But at least he finally gets the points for soldiers who suicide.

noooo on warpath. map is too big for 6 v 6 imo and I just dislike the map.

Also lolz at the loss of life for the backburner. Thats pretty lame imo. I don’t even use it but I still think its lame. Oh wells.

"Removed health bonus from the Backburner "

Damn, save the biggest for the last. I think this is for the better.

After pubbing today, losing the health from the backburner is no big deal. Pyros are still just as dangerous upclose thanks to the damage fall off correction. But I’m not sure if they also removed the backburners regular random crits. I can’t think of a situation that wasn’t from behind where my backburner got crits hits. I spammed the flame next to a dispenser for about five minutes and didn’t get any random crits either.

Crits are based on score and damage… if you aren’t doing damage or upping your score then you will have a very low percentage chance of getting crits.

I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t change something as drastic as removing random crits from Backburner without mentioning it. Valve does ninja updates sometimes, but I don’t think that would’ve gone unannounced. I’ve been reading the Steamcommunity.com forums and there hasn’t been a mention of it there, so I don’t think that’s the case.

But also hillarious over at those forums is people pretty much bastardizing the Backburner now, and there’s like half a dozen of us trying to fight for it’s sanctity. Everyone pretty much says because of the “lousy” hit detection on the Backburner, it’s completely worthless to use compared to the regular flamethrower and the airblast.

Whatever.

I played for a bit last night and noticed no difference in my k/d ratio and average points per hour. Those dudes are just mad scrubby, but what else can you expect from a bunch of forum trolls/whiners?

So, I just got the Medic and Pyro complete XX achievements unlocked, and I have like 8 medic achievements and no pyro achievements (I DONT PLAY PYRO). I logged onto Steam, logged into TF2, and lo and behold there they are in my Achievement List.

I hope they’ll reset them or something for me, I want to get the Medic Stuff legit.

I was pleased to note that the actual cake in Portal was based upon a local restaurant’s Black Forest Cake. I bought one today and it really does look exactly like the cake. Random but true.

That sucks about the achievements. But dude… I wanted to play Mythos for the first time in months and it’s gone! WTF mannn

Also, I’ve been playing Demoman a lot more after the news about Valve wanting to do something to tone him down… play him at this strength while you still can. :shake:

Yeh it sucks about Mythos lol.

I’m hoping I can get Valve to reset those 6 achievements on my account. I have to make a new account for support?

Wut?

Who does that.

For some reason I can’t be reliable as Demoman.
I’ve seen demo players launch grenades and stickies from halfway across the map harassing…but I can’t even seem to get them across a wall.

Maybe it’s just more practice…

man I’m new and don’t think I’m trying to make you feel bad but

Demo is ridiculously easy.

like…EASY EASY.

You’ll get it down flat and be able to do stuff like this:

I’m one of those people who have trouble playing Demoman too. Especially in active combat (the guy is running and firing at you and dodges all your single sticky drops). Not a jump specialist, either. Staying back and just spamming stickies in concentrated places, especially on defense though, is very easy, yet I have fun doing it. The thing with distance is that the angle you fire at helps determine it. Fire them a little higher next time, obviously not too high to the point the arc makes the length shorter.

Most frustrating thing is that despite no falloff damage, you still don’t know if a grenade can one-shot a 125HP class or not…

Renewed the server…and dropped it to 16 slots. It will take some time to reup the server.
I think that is a reasonable number.

August 19th is the date for the new update!

  • New CP Map (Steel)
  • New Payload Map
  • New mode with 5 new maps (!)
  • Heavy Update

I need to start playing again. I didn’t even jump back on during the Medic updates :frowning:

Oh, and changed the thread title from OB to TF2  Hope no one minds.

Awesome, can’t wait to see the new heavy updates, but now I’ll have to hear “medic, medic medic!”

If I jump on, I’ll be a medic cause I haven’t gotten any of the achievements :frowning:

Official TF2 Heavy Update Site.

Sweet…although I’m kind of getting burned out (pun) playing heavy, but new maps and modes are welcome.

For real, let’s set up some matches between us SRKers…

Edit: Server is down ATM…I’m checking to see what’s up.
