On the Idling Program:
I think people just feel blindsided by Valve’s actions. The idler has been out for at least three months. Robin Walker said it was “technically cheating” only a week ago whereas moderators say the word “exploit” instead here and there during its lifespan. Feeling safe based on the posts of sourceop (“You’re not going to get banned because it’s based on a non-secure server”), there also seemed to be a feeling that Valve could not do anything about it. We still knew that they were aware and disprove of the method. The whole halo thing is not only on the surface IMO it’s also another problem altogether.
On Headsets:
I am going to step in and say “NO” to Steel Series headsets. They make good mousepads, but their headsets are overpriced. I bought one (on discount of course) and RMA’ed the first one, and the second one’s mic eventually broke.
I currently use a Koss SB-40. I bought a separate mic so I do not use the one that’s actually on the headset. I’m want to sell it though, so anyone interested hit me up. :wonder:
On Mice:
MX518 is solid. The ST Ryu of mice if you will. Deathadder is better but with Razer products it’s always hit or miss. Both are naturally for palmers, which sucks for me. I need a new mouse, just too poor right now.
Jammar, I’ll agree that the 5H are a bit overpriced but I’ve had mine for a year and a half and it works perfectly (knock on wood). I also agree that steelseries makes great products all together. I own a QCK Heavy which is the gigantic mousepad. I’ve had it for so long I forgot how big it actually is.
Haha I only said they make good mousepads, and by mousepads I pretty much just mean the QCK series. They have their own line of mice, which (from what I’ve heard) are terrible. However, Steelseries just started to pre-release and promote their two newest mice (Xai and Kinzu) and it looks like they might have stepped up like Madcatz. They also have their own keyboard line and because of the lack of reviews I’d say stay away, if you can even go up to their price point ($100+).
I don’t think I’d ever buy a “gaming keyboard” I don’t see myself spending 100+ on a keyboard unless it served me drinks. I’ve never checked on the SS mice but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be too good anyway.
Anyway, my main gaming PC has a pretty nasty virus so I’m waiting for my cousin to help me reformat it. Hopefully I can get back into the TF2 mix. I miss it =/
The keyboard that I use is a Saitek Eclipse, it doesn’t have any extra buttons for macros so I wouldn’t really say that it is a gaming keyboard, but it’s keys definitely feel good.
Going to buy a mx518, since it seems like you guys really like it and I use a palm grip. And it was destroyed in the most amazing display of Pyro skill I’ve ever seen then it must be truly amazing.

I’ve been reading the Halos give away spies…and eats up CPU power.
I don’t know if they give away spies still but the are pretty buggy. i see halos in weird spots and when I shoot, no one is there.
Don’t know about the CPU power, but I can confirm that Halos do give away cloaked spies.

they give away cloaked spies for sure. and there is the phantom halo glitch thats pretty rampant.
as for the cpu. yes, the halo’s have a bloom effect thats extra algorithms for gpus

Soldier update on Nov. 11 makes me a sad panda. I’ve been waiting for it since they announced that class updates were coming out. Soldier easily racks up 95% of my TF2 time at least. I reset my stats all the time so I don’t look like such a hooer.
