They didn’t just take away hats, you know. The one hat I owned, along with a bunch of my items, were obtained before the Sniper and Spy milestones were implemented.
The method which Valve used to discern which weapons were earned through idling seems flawed as well.
Like I said, I don’t like how they handled the situation, but there was no way they could handle this and please everyone. I’d be pissed if I lost something, but I have to look at it through their eyes as well, not just the idlers, the people who mistakenly lost items, or those like me who only gained from this.
I’m completely neutral.
The first one is great for Battle-Engies, but playing battle engy is hard, so I doubt many current-engies will care for it.
I’ll be getting all my items back anyway because Valve said they were returning all items that were received through achievements. I just wanted a cool sweet hat but never got one anyway through idling except the Sniper hat which isn’t too special.
There is a pretty big war between the Halo and non-halo wearers it seems. But I play on a server that doesn’t really care about that.
@Deathreaper: I can see the engineer item useful when you need to quickly build a Sentry/Dispenser/Teleporters when the enemy encroaches on a cap point.
The heavy item is very useful because the -6 a second wouldn’t even matter with a medic. Though I don’t even think an item would remove health periodically, it doesn’t seem like something like that would be in TF2.
The Poopy Dick Quality? Can’t upgrade?
No thanks.
Other engineers can upgrade your buildings for you, it doesn’t have to stay level 1. It is a team-based game anyway.
It would be useful for engy assists, like when I go engy during the setup phase just to help others get their tele entrances to level 3, now I can go out and actually get the guns up faster, and let them worry about upgrading it themselves
Real or not, I’m not sure if the rate of building is based on buildings being constructed with no engineer by it or if you have to actually hit it with the wrench itself.
But seriously guys. Mics. Good one. Need it. Plz.
I bought some Steel Series Gaming one from either Wal-Mart or Best Buy.
How much you tryna spend?
I use a SteelSeries 5Hv2. Headset + Mic and comes with a USB soundcard. The best headset I’ve ever owned and it’s gone through a lot of damage from falling off my desk a couple of times.

If you have a good soundcard then just get the regular one which is cheaper. I have a fatality soundcard which is awesome but I still had ordered the USB headset. I don’t use the thing so you are better off buying the normal one.

It’s built pretty tough. I’ve also heard most of the Sennheiser stuff is good too.
If you are interested in saving money I’d go with the 5H I posted. Much cleaner, cheaper and is pretty much the same thing as the planatronics. It is super comfortable as well.
The retractable and reshapable mic the 5H has is really cool too.
Fuck the what I aint paying 100 bucks for no damn gaming headset
My Steel Series one was like 40 bucks.
Well, while we’re on the subject for gear, can anyone recommend me a mouse? I plan on using something new for TF2 and Quake Live mostly.
Logitech MX518.
Best.Mouse.Ever.
that or the deathadder
I use some dingy old HP stock mouse, but I can attest that the MX518 is incredible.
I think everyone I know uses this mouse.
Also, IIRC, it’s the one that was broken in that one Pyro video. So you know it’s good.
