Tatsunoko vs Capcom Thread V.3 - No homebrew/offtopic talk please

Two simple questions:

  • How do you select different colours and how many does each character have?
  • Can you air throw mid way during an aerial rave?

Tatsunoko Characters only have 2 colors. Capcom Characters have 3 (though the 3rd has to be unlocked and purchased in the game).

The “A” button gives you the default Player 1 color. “C” button gives you the 2nd color. “B” button gives you the 3rd color for the Capcom characters.

As for throws during Air combos, the only one I’ve been able to get off is Alex’ Power Bomb (since it’s a command throw). Couldn’t tell you if you can combo into a regular thow though I have a feeling probably not.

Nah, you can’t combo into regular throws, only certain command throws. Two others that combo are Yatterman-1’s and Morrigan’s, though the former is on the ground and the only time I got Morrigan’s to combo was from an IAD setup.

Does anyone know if a gamecube-to-PS2 controller convert will work on this? And if it does, can someone tell me what its called so I do have any compatibility issues?

They do indeed. Joybox converter works well, so long as you aren’t using a goofy stick like a universal pelican.

does mashing supers do extra damage?

nope

^I’m almost positive you can combo in and out of Saki’s command grab too.

^only Megaman’s lvl3 afaik, unless everyone is just making that up.
I’ll test it out in a little while.

EDIT - Tested… & it works, but rotating the joystick really fast is critical. Without mashing it gets you a mere 13,000-14,000dmg which is weaker than his lvl1 drill super. The most I could get with mashing is: 17,424 out of it.

Just to add to that. I tried it with just tapping 1 of the buttons (didn’t really matter which one) and was able to get a couple of hundred more damage, but likewise if I mashed hard I got a few extra hits for that extra 1000. As mentioned, not really worth it.

You can combo in and out of Saki’s command throw.

You do a quarter circle forward, and then you go past forward to up/forward, and then you hit the attack button. so what happens is you jump (super jump) from the up/forward, and then when you hit the button, immediately execute your qcf move in the air.

Well, this game appears to officially be in SBO. So if we have qualifiers and you plan on entering, remember not to main Joe/Saki/Daimao/Ippatsuman since they’re console-only!
