This is why I think it’s the same as infight.
I beleive that when you enter baroque, it will allow you to link any move into any other move, a custom combo sort of thing perhaps.

I find it scary that Roll’s level 3 did more damage than Karas’s level 3.
Note that this game has characters with different “defense modifiers” (as opposed to “unequal hit points”).
And she did 22k+ damage points to Tekkaman, a character with supposedly high defense. Karas only did 20k+ damage points to Roll, who I can assume has one of the weakest defense.
That’s a matter of taste. I happen to like the Sentai look of the Tatsunoko characters.
On another note, even Nintendo Power is talking about this game. I know that’s nothing special, but any hope it coming to the states is fine by me.
Yeah, I also don’t mind Sentai look, since I am used to them. It’s basically the same complaint on why American superheroes wear undies outside their clothing.
And what did Nintendo Power say about the game?
I read on snk-capcom.com/forums that there is a rumor spreading about hidden characters. Go might be the hidden character for Tatsunoko side?

In the recent issue, which gave their impressions of various things they saw during TGS, all they did was just give it a small text box talking about it, and how (once again) licensing difficulties pretty much make it an impossibility for it to come out here.
Still, doesn’t stop them from giving the game due praise.
That was me…
…and apparently I think someone from 2ch mistook my custom playlist as an official soundtrack. >_>
Who the fuck is Go?
^Speed Racer. His Japanese name is Go Mifune. His father is Daisuke Mifune, and owns the Mifune Motors.
Just to let you all know a little more about Baroque;
Activation uses all of your Red life. The duration of the effect does not seem based on how much red life you had, it seems set. Activation cancels any special or normal move you were in into a nuetral state, so it works as a roman cancel. For the duration of the glowing on your character, you will deal bonus damage proportionate to the amount of red life you used to activate. In a combo, where hits are heavily scaled already, this is not as noticable. But consider punishing someone’s wiffed attack with a naked BAROQUE xx SHINKUU HADOUKEN. We saw this do 80% once at the Evo build. I dont know if things this dramatic can still happen in the final build, but you can bet your ass ill be testing it when I get my hands on it.
So a typical combo for any character is going to be
(Ground chain) -> (assist hits) -> (dash in a do same ground chain) xx (Baroque) -> (dash in and do the same ground chain) -> (launcher into air combo into super or just super)
I recall seeing some more recent loketest vids that Hyper combos cancel Baroque. I think it was in the Doronjo + Batsu glitch vid.
Capcom should of had the foresight from the beginning of this project to address any licencing BS in the US and elsewhere. They just shot themselves in the foot for being blind to the fact that this game could appeal to a much larger audience then just Japanese gamers.
The game will not generate great revenue due to it’s exculsivity to certain markets and any future VS fighters will face tremendous corporate roadblocks from the higherups at Capcom, ala SFIII:TS and the ten year waiting period till finally getting SFIV.
Go is the most famous Tatsunoko property!
Umm what?
Are you seriously saying they should never create a game that caters only for Japanese audience?
That depends really. He’s quite popular, but Time Bokan series, particularly Yatterman, is possibly the most popular Tatsunoko show (outside the four heroes).
See, if you think about it from the scope of “worldwide market appeal”, you MAY have some semblance of a point.
But the fact is, being a Japanese exclusive is not likely going to hurt this game in the least. Or at least, not any more than the likes of other games Capcom has had a hand in, such as “Fate: Unlimited Codes”, the Sengoku BASARA series (minus SBX), and certainly not the “Gundam vs. Gundam” series.
What do those games have in common? For the most part, they’re either a) completely JP-exclusive or b) have definitely made more bank for Capcom on their home turf in Japan, such that any non-JP presence is largely negligible at best, and thus, not really necessary.
If Capcom ever gets around to making a “Marvel vs. Capcom 3” or whatever-the-hell else they could do for marketing a similar product in the States, it will be its own beast, that is likely to have its own marketing campaign, all of its own.
But, once more, everything is pointing to the notion that TvC is going to do just fine, the way it is, in Japan. The rule of thumb is just that not EVERY singular product that Capcom may make, is going to have worldwide/American concerns in mind. That’s just not how it works.
This is basically absurd and baseless babying because the game isnt coming to YOUR territory. Jump! Super Stars and Ultimate Stars sold ridiculously well and were japan-only fighters for the same licensing reasons. I don’t think you have any ground to say that this game wont meet and exceed capcom’s sales expectations for it. Consider this: getting the licensing straight for a US release might cost MORE than they would expect to make selling the game here.
All valid points, pardon the post I made as it was clouded by my frustration at it being exclusive and fear for any future VS Capcom fighting game.
Case in point right here. Capcom US would never make the money they would spend on licensing fees to get this over here anyway. At this point it’s import or die. If they keep to that promise of that exclusive US game they are supposedly dropping then it’ll be all good. But you never know with stuff like this.
Its really not that hard to import games nowadays anyways.I’m glad that capcom decided to make this game at all,and it’s shaping up to be as good or better then Sf4.
