Tatsunoko vs Capcom Thread V.3 - No homebrew/offtopic talk please

da hell, people in the US already got this and its not even out in japan yet? i want to hear everyone’s karas impression. its so easy for this guy to hit you its not even funny. havent tried everyone out yet though. tried roll and mega man and they both seem pretty decent. capcom i see what you did there with roll’s air dash. megaman really stepped up his zoning skills, he kinda left like a spiral.

Anyone get the Ryu music?

Cant put my order out till tomorrow, so I’m def gonna add fast shipping.

so im about to go down the street here and grab me a copy of this as soon as the game shop opens. and i find myself wondering, is this game able to be played online on the wii? or is it a 70 dollar 2 player (in the living room only) game?

i cant wait to play me some polymer!

I’m afraid no online but you save loads of yen having the superior home version though.

 Damnit, well I ordered it already so might as well enjoy it and try to find some comp.

But everybody is feeling the game so it might not be the worst investment ever.

Off Subject: You have one of the best AV’s on this site, period. I might have to holla at you about getting something like it.

^ This is my problem. Not too many people I know have a Wii, so controls are gonna be an issue, plus some people, I wouldnt let play my shit anyway. So, yeah, that.

But it’ll be at a local tournament soon, so whatever practice I get will be worth it.

Sorry man, there is no wifi battles on this guy. Just old-school piss-off-your-buddy-next-to-you 2P battling.

CFAY: I can’t say much w/o having someone live to beat up but just from first impressions Karas still seems pretty strong. He’s very much an upgraded Hayato. I still haven’t figured out his chain-combo specials just yet but the fact that it’s so damn easy to combo into his super can’t be denied >_>

Also, Mega Man can definitely be strong in the right hands. He can cancel his weapon change into itself so, in Soul Calibur terms, it could potentially be really easy to shuffle stances with him like Siegfried. This already gives him a mixup with his drill weapon, because the towards+B with Drill is low, while towards+B with no weapon is an overhead. However, his arm flashes different colors depending on which weapon you switch to, so that’ll tip off people who are fast enough to react to it. On top of this, he has three diff ways to do weapon change:

dp - dash forward and change
d, d - change w/o moving
rdp - backdash and change

Me, I’m too fidgety a player so I always end up canceling into the wrong weapon, haha.

and dammit I didn’t have auto-save on. Make sure you save people! -_-;;

sigh…

what you say is true. and anyway, if Super 2 turbo HD remix is any indication of what type of online quality play capcom is givin us, then its probably a good thing this one is offline.

i can still enjoy it. i just wanted to know because i still don’t have my wii online.

thanks for that info bro.

i whore out karas in the arcade so i know most of his combos but now everyone is using him so thats how i ended up trying to switch to mega man.

here are some combos. A = weak, B = mid, C = heavy, c = crouch

basic combo starter is c.A, c.A ,c.A, B, c.B, C,

things you can add:

df.C to air combo
C, charge b, f + B, B, C, d,f C to air combo
C, charge b, f + B, lvl 3 super
d,f, B, reflector super
d.C, d,f+C (wierd and only works sometimes)
C, charge b, f + B, d,f+B (its the finisher to the charge move, still havent figured it completely)

those are just a few but you can try out other crap.
you usually activate baroque after c.A, c.A ,c.A, B, c.B, C,C then dash in a and do the same combo then whatever finisher you like. you can rush people down with jump air dash A into multiple c+A on some magneto shit. if op release block on one of those A attacks, he about to lose a lot of life.

i know combos can get more advanced with assist and whatnot but that above is what i been using for now. after that move where he throws out the harpoon, d,f+any attack and he’ll do a pretty cool flying kick attack slamming the op into the wall. after that attack he can c+B, launcher. youll raise an eye brow when you see the range on his c.B

gonna pick up my copy with the stick in an hour also. damn i was really looking forward to playing online. oh well, practice at home and try out at the arcade. sure everyone else in japan will be doing the same thing though.

About the shop: How many slots are there in total? 'cause as far as I know, there are 4 revealed unlockable characters, are there more slots?

cfay: luckily you’ll have the competition :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t think I’m going to get much of a scene in my area (UC Irvine), especially when most everyone here already has to travel to get comp (outside of Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear anyway). Either way thanks for the tips. For some reason I kept thinking that first special he had referred to his f.C o_O I shoulda tried charging, it makes so much sense -_-; To be honest right now I feel really comfortable with chun’s combo ability, but much testing needs to be done.

One thing I think would really make things interesting is when we finally get into the realm of baiting Mega Crushes and using resets. Right now until we find some heavy traps Mega Crushes I think will stay on offense and last-minute bail-outs, but once we find those traps, baiting Crushes will be so sweet  Especially when you reset into Chun’s level 3 super >:D

Hitaro0: I can’t really say if there aren’t any new characters to unlock outside of the ones listed on the wiki, because each it isn’t like there are empty slots to check for. Instead, the character roster expands with each unlocked chara.

Man, that combo vid makes me want to play Ken more than ever. That and the fact that the Gatchaman theme gets me super hyped whenever it comes on…

can someone post some polymar combos please…and how to setup the reset into air grab ? I think ill be able to play this on friday and I want to be ready

I know i’m really late on this but thanks mark man for the translation.

It’s not like Mega Man 9 isn’t on all 3…

Thanks so far to everyone who’s posted impressions. I’ve got my joysticks all ready to rock once the game arrives.

:woot: Thank you! You made my week! :woot:

I guess the fact that I’ve had that mp3 for years makes me one of the bigger MM fans around here >_> Awesome song though, I agree.

This may be old news to people who tested out Soki, but I figure I might as well mention it. He’s slow all around (hell he can’t even combo A, B, C), but he makes up for some of that by having the same Issen attacks as he did in Onimusha. Basically this tacks on an extra attack to some of his moves. These are the ones I’ve found, and they actually all have fairly different effects… some end in knockdown, others in the air, the specifics of which will come later:

-t.C, B+C (changes sides, opp. kd)
-hcf A/B/C, B+C (launches)
-hcb A/B/C, (changes sides, opp. kd)
-dp 2P, level 1 (this is his lightning super, with no charge… figured out that you need to hold 2P to charge up the attack. No super armor or anything like that though so you need your assist to hold down your opponent if you want to get even the level 2 version of this to come out, I think  )

None of them really offer combo opportunities I don’t think though. I’ll find out more after the Laker game.

major edit: so Soki can actually combo his moves, and can even combo into his Issen! The thing is that he’s like Seong Mina from Soul Calibur 4 – he’s completely range-dependent. From far range (~50/75% of the screen) his attacks will combo, and he can do quite a bit of damage with that too. His B is pretty fast and great anti-air. From that it’s an easy combo to C, t.C, B+C. I guess this makes Soki’s style really geared towards zoning from far range… and using his super armor and hcb-A/B/C counter-attack to keep people from getting close. That’s the idea, anyway… Dunno how it’ll play out in practice.

If anyone gets a chance, Soki has two listed lv. 3 supers… I don’t know what the second one means, so if someone could translate it that’d be awesome.

i didnt go to the arcade for three days and comp def already stepped up when i checked last night. chun is a lot like karas with the easy combo ability but i think karas got the advantage a bit because of his range and speed. his standing B covers so much ground. we’ll see how everything turns out.

the the problem with using resets as you would in marvel is the slow recovery of medium and heavy attacks. most players will not mega crush until youre combo start to get into the medium attack and so far it doesnt seem like you can block before you get hit with the mega crush, i know there gotta be some exceptions though. most meduim attacks and special move finishers arent safe on block.

Any confirmation on what is the best PS2—GCN Converter you can get right now?

I really really want to buy this game
