How hard would it be to take out the guts from a TvC stick and put it in a TE fightstick? I’m talking a straight swap with pcbs and all. I’m just not digging the size of the case.
This is exactly my issue. Now that you mention it, there was an instance last week where I thought the stick was unplugged from the wiimote, so I picked up the stick and the wiimote was dragged off the table with it…
Great, so it seems I have wrecked my wiimote… but only for the fightstick… so weird that my classic controller doesn’t have the issue. I’m wondering if I can just add some extra tape around the male part of the dongle or something to pad it in there a little. If I hold it in place with my thumb I can stop it from disconnecting… I mean there has to be a reason that even though I’ve loosened the connector, the classic cont works but the mad catz is loose.
Ok well glad to see I’m not alone!
I picked this stick up yesterday, it’s not bad stock. I like the color scheme, so I’ll replace the stock joystick buttons with the same Sanwa parts soon.
Still not used to wireless stick, I cringe every time somebody walks between me and the TV thinking they’re going to yank the cord out of the Wii!
The blue buttons on this stick are a unique sky blue color that doesn’t exist in the Sanwa lineup. If you want to keep the same colors but get the Sanwa feel, you can just replace the switches. The edges on the Sanwa plungers feel slightly more rounded, but this probably wouldn’t be an issue unless you need to do things like the slide technique (dragging a finger across several buttons at once), e.g. SFIV Gen and other chars who benefit from precisely-executed ‘mash’ moves.
The light blue Seimitsus are closer in hue but not quite as light. They’re all close enough that you may or may not care… just throwing that info out there.
As a guy with a little kid running around the house, I can vouch for the usefulness of wireless (and breakaway cables). I used to not have to worry about that shit, now it seems critical.
I bought this stick the other day. Quick question, since it is a wireless stick, I’m guessing it won’t be allowed to bring to major tournaments such as Evo? Is there a Wii to GC converter that exists?
It uses the Wiimote which one would have to assume is part of the system therefor tournament legal. PS3 and 360 tourneys use their respective wireless pads even at Evo, so the Wiimote controllers should be the same.
it’s happened to my other controller!
Having same issue as the posts above ^^ but with my OTHER wiimote.
This is driving me nuts. I paid extra care to make sure I am not pulling the cord or putting any extra stress on the connector in the wiimote and it still happened. It took about 2 weeks. I even took the rubber jacket off the wiimote so I could easily unplug it.
If the remote gets bumped at all the sticks stops responding until you wiggle wiimote and it goes back in again. The other weird thing is that sometimes when you wiggle it, it triggers the Home button and the menu will come up.
I tested this wiimote when I was first plugging in the stick to it. It never disconnected when wiggled lightly. It now does this on all my wiimotes. What is going on here?! It wasn’t happening initially but after about 2 weeks usage the issue started for both wiimotes.
Sorry to bump this thread, but I’d ordered eight OSBF 30 buttons for my TVC fightstick. I just got them today, and they’re too small. The button holes are too big for them. Can anyone tell me the proper buttons that will fit into the TVC fightstick panel? I don’t want to waste anymore money.
Those are the ones.
You did not accidentally buy 24mm Buttons?
There’s a chance that I did. I had no idea they came in mutiple sizes. What size am I supposed to get?
OBSF-30 should fit. OBSF-24 will be too small.
Exchange it is what I did. I had a disconnect problem also, but it seemed to only happen when I left the Wii Remote idle for like 2-3 minutes. The Wii remote was still on and functional, but I had to unplug/replug the stick to get it to work.
I’m temped to pick up one of these for cheap, but I’m not really sure if it’s worth it. I like the style of case and I’m tempted to try out these higher quality parts, but to use the think with most of my systems will involve major modding as it doesn’t even have a PS3 or 360 PCB to start with.
for $15 you can get a wii-to-usb converter that allows you to use the tvc wii stick on ps3.
Really? that would be perfect! where at?
Buy Wii Classic Controller to PC USB Adapter (Windows? PC) - Play-Asia.com
i am using that adapter on a PS3 with a TvC stick. haven’t used it enough to be sure it doesn’t have lag or something horrible, but it definitely works!
So let me ask you fellas a question. I see they make an adapter to use a Wii stick with ps3 but is there one to use a Wii stick with the 360? Also, is there any adapter to use my 360 stick on the Wii?
Thanks in advance
Kevin
i was wondering about the updated parts that look very similar to sanwa, and higher quality than original SE sticks.
Is this change only in TVC sticks? or has it been updated throughout madcatz products (excluding the TEs that use sanwa parts)?
im just wondering because i just got two SEs and i wanted to know what the chance that i wont have to worry about buttons crapping out (im aware of the possibility of the washer problem but thats for a different thread question)
The TvC stick I had 3 buttons crapped out after two months, the joystick is okay, but still inaccurate and not nearly as good as a JLF. As far as i know the new “quality” parts only apply to TvC sticks.
TvC parts are now also in the new WWE Brawl stick:
