Ive been using baroque when i may only have a few pixels of red health, just to make my combo longer. ive done this like three times in a match, and each time i did it it ended in a shinku hadouken. It may not be as powerful as a 20% baroque, but it gets the job done.
Its a choice you have to make. Do you want to take the opportunity to deal 3000-8000 extra damage here and there, or do you want to spend a lot for one shot at dealing an extra 20-30,000? Or, do you want to tag out and heal?
I dont think there is any right way to go about it.
Good to know. Thanks.
Also, I think it would be a good idea to compile a list of all the chars assists, their properties, and their uses (Ryu’s keeps them grounded, Karas’ puts them in a juggle state).
^ yeah, iguess it just depends on the way you like to play, and what situation you might be in at the moment, in some cases, you may be able to use a 30% baroque because you have a partner with full health and so on.
Don’t know if this is common knowledge or not, but you can nullify a good amount of chip damage from multi-hit supers by mashing on advanced guard. If theres a gap then be careful or you’ll eat some of the super.
From my experience, when you have 1 character left vs 2 characters your lvl 3 supers end up taking more damage than usual. It may count for regular supers too.
About the question on the Classic controller…I’m mainly a pad fighter as I haven’t been able to afford an arcade stick yet, so I’ve been playing this and STHD on my console’s respective pads.
The Classic Controller is actually pretty great compared to say, the Xbox 360 pad. On my 360 pad I can only execute DPs if I’m on the left side of the screen, and even then it rarely comes out when I want it to, resulting in poor AA on my part.
Playing TvC, I execute the DP about 80% of the time when I want it to, the remaining 20% being human error as I’m not really trained all that well ^^; So yea, if you really need to go pad with TvC, the Classic controller shouldn’t disappoint too much, I don’t think.
So, since I didn’t see it anywhere, I’ll throw up the info I got for damage proration in combos. It works in 5% chunks, or as near as some moves get to it. Each hit in a combo does 5% less than its base damage for each hit in the combo.
1st- 100%
2nd- 95%
3rd- 90%
4th- 85%
And so on, until it hits 35%, where it bottoms out. After the 15th hit of a combo, each hit does 35% of its base damage.
This changes for projectiles, but not much. They begin prorating on the 3rd move of a combo, so that they don’t bottom out until after the 16th hit.
I didn’t find any moves with increased proration, but I only tested through a couple characters.
So keep this information in mind, and remember that most strong supers are multihit, so you may start the combo at 60% damage, but the strongest hit will only be doing 35%!
dont know if its been mentioned. just got game rockin today. played a couple hours, but anyways, you can super immediately following mega crushes, and get your super to connect for free. i had chun, i comboed into launcher, air combo, and then the dude i was playin did a mega crush, and right after, i immediately did her level three super, and it hit him clean. so it seems that you can input at least her lvl 3 right after a mega crush, and get that shit for free. i would assume other characters can do this with other supers too, like shinku hadouken and shit.
heads up if it wasnt mentioned. no unpunished mega crushes. fuck that
let me correct that. thinking back, i really just did the lvl 3 at the same time he did the crush, and i hit him. so it was just actually random timing, but it worked regardless
Yeah you can block immediately following a megacrush, that’s kind of the point, so throwing supers at it isn’t the best idea.
word. it was just perfect timing that i got lucky, and when he crushed, i did the super, so i beat his crush.
Wait…perhaps that means you can get out of Joe’s voomerang infinite with a mega crush?
Yeah you can definitely switch to blocking the joe infinite with a megacrush, and I think someone said that after that you can advancing guard to reduce blockstun and jump out of it.
discovered something interesting today with Yatterman/Souki in the corner.
Do this combo in the corner with yatterman
Launcher, super jump, :snka: :snka: :snkb: :snkb:, jump, :snkb: :dp: :snkb: ,:snkc:. As soon as you land, do the firebreath super (:qcb: + :2p:) and cancel it into Soukis Oni magic (:dp: + :2p:) charge it until Lv2 and release
Souki will leave the opp grounded but stunned because of the electricity, when he attemps to hit you with the swords again, he will whiff the entire move (the opp will be on the other side) and after the super the opp will still be in that stun, allowing you to do a free combo with souki. You can even enter into Onimusha form (:hcb: + :2p:) and do a combo.
I dont know if people know this but, there are other ways to “Launch” people in the air in this game. I’ve been messing around with staggers lately if you can stagger an opponet any following attack will pick them up off the ground. Just thought this bit of info was interesting.
word. i believe that is what was done in the batsu infinite video posted. he staggered the opponent first
mmmm
Isn’t nice when people actually you know TEST SHIT before saying they want to out right ban it?
Unlike A LOT of people who have posted in these forums.
“omg infinite lets ban stuff. D:”
“like console characters?”
“YAAAHHH!!!”
Keep posting strats as much as you can, it’s definitely some good stuff on this thread by everyone.
That’s not what I would call a “launch” it’s more of a precaution that the developers instilled so that people won’t go crazy with combo strings that end with another stun. That’s why after a stun the next him puts them in the air so that the next combo you pull off is limited somewhat, thus preventing any type of extended combo. Imagine a long combo string to a stun, then doing that same combo string to baroque then the SAME combo string again to a launch then an aerial rave to a v. aerial rave. That’s easily 50% of your bar at least _.
…for most characters
So yah. It’s there for good reason
