there’s only two sticks for Wii. Hori and Seimitsu. Hori is the old one and Seimitsu is the new TvC stick. Retail $101 altogether when I paid for it. People are using Mayflash coverters or something like that.
You can use the GC controller but be warned of how bulky and awkward it is. The buttons are placed weird as well. It’s ok.

There’s a cheapo stick available from intech or something like that; you can get them at wal-mart for $30. I know it sounds like a terrible idea but we have a player in Windsor who uses one and it’s very responsive and doesn’t seem to have any technical problems. The only issue with it is you’d have to adjust to the stiff buttons, fairly loose stick and huge gate. It’s definitely a fully functional stick though… as for how long it will last we have no idea.
Windsor is getting pretty serious into this game but we’re pretty far from TO so we’ll probably keep our discussion about it in the Sarnia/Windsor thread. Expect to see us at big events for sure though
If you were thinking about that infinite throw thing, it’s not really infinite. Remember that you can mash out of it. =P
lol. I would hope that a stick is fully functional! I should really put some hours into this game. I hope to do this this coming weekend probably in the morning so I can llose less in the evening if any of you fine gentlemen (or ladies) decide to play with me.
What infinite throw thing? You could complete grad school and still have enough time to tech one of his throws, I don’t see how you could perform an infinite with it.
LoL. Yeah. If you listened to the SRK podcast from this week, one of the guys got owned by a kid playing PTX who kept throwing him. He forgot that you had to mash instead of trying to tech the throw normally.
LOL, I just looked it up on Youtube. You’d have to be in a coma for that to work, but I guess if you don’t know how tech the giants’ throws properly, then you might have a problem.
Too bad the online for this game is so bad. Anyone from around the Windsor area interested in doing local tourneys? Or are any of you holding Local tourneys? I’d love to start getting involved in the competitive TvC scene but we need someone to make it happen. As of now I host locals in Windsor for SF4 but it’s too far from most of you guys to make anything happen down here. Someone get in touch with me to let me know if you have a TvC scene!
Hey guys, I’m just curious as to what everyone’s thoughts are on some of the characters in this game. I haven’t really played seriously yet, mostly just playing in training and arcade to unlock the characters (still playing SFIV too). I think the team I’m going to stick with is Alex/Jun the Swan. I really like Alex in this game, kind of reminds me a bit of T.Hawk…and Jun is just awesome. Will need some serious play though to see if this is viable or not. I really wanted to play as Frank West when the game first came out…but I can’t seem to figure him out. Hopefully lots of you can make it to Fight On! in Waterloo on March 6th. I’d like to meet lots of you, and I’m sure the TvC tournament will get pretty hype!
This will help on those people who run away with Roll and use her healing super! I got bsed several times by this guy who kept running away to gain life and running the clock… =(
