Ok, Just called the Wyndham Orlando and found out my reservations were for another guy Bob Naval I was freaking thinking they lost mine, lol everything is in order now. We can check in early on Thursday anytime after 10am as long as a room is available. I plan to go home tonight and get AE up and running on my Xbox and practice the Giefster.

These are the people planning on staying at my room, it will be packed like mexicans but we will have plenty of floor space hopefully since its a suite, Me and Charles plan on bringing our setups but we will probably need one extra setup for marvel or mk9. Anybody from the Florida scene is welcome to come thru and lvl up with us this weekend its gonna be crazy.

Shop wise Wednesdays and Fridays are the only firm days… everything else is pretty much open, but that leaves me with Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday for the second game night… once August rolls around I have a feeling that the shop will be open on Mondays, but then i’m still having back to back game nights at the store or back to back with the Sarasota get together.
for me I’m putting 45+ at my day job and really don’t want to spend every weekend at the comic shop from open to close for a Saturday/Sunday game night. Tuesday make my life a little easier because it will break things up nicely for me, my professorial and my life social life…
but again everything is tentative… keep the feedback and suggestions coming.

tuesdays are my days off.
I was at a Bob’s playing for a couple hours. So since I have to wait for it to download from Playstation Store, I’ll share what I’ve noticed for now.
Bob’s pretty amped about the changes to Gief so far. Combos that end with Ex Green Hand make you stutter at first, before getting used to the idea that it doesn’t knock down anymore. Seems to be even harder to get Gief off of you because of this. Ex Green Hand to jab stops you from jumping. Jab SPD range is about where the characters start at the beginning of a match, maybe just a bit shorter, which is ridiculous! Poking at him just to keep him away even seems like a bad idea when pokes increase the range of an SPD. Can’t wait to see him grab one of Vega’s fierce pokes. No doubt the range is going to be stupid far.
Fucked around with E Ryu for a bit. You have to have your combos and hit confirms down pat. Negative edge can really fuck you over, a la Seth or Akuma or Ibuki. Already been well stated that the dude hits pretty hard, and can’t take a hit for shit.
I’m having a hard time getting used to Cammy for now. I need to sit in the lab and relearn some of the simplest things, a la what to do after a crumple. I keep trying to TKCS, but just end up flying over the opponent with a jump short. She feels like a completely different character. Like they could’ve made this character her twin and kept her the way she was, and it would’ve been another Yun/Yang scenario. Her links feel unfamiliar, although they do feel good. Standing strong and crouching strong were already good, now better, faster, more active it seems. Off of crouching jab **and **crouching strong, you can get any punch button, standing or crouching, whether it’s the far or close animation. You can also get crouching toward from it. Far standing fierce is too fickle. Just inside the range, you can cancel into specials. A slight move and it’s outside, and you can’t cancel. Seems like they changed Spiral Arrow back to the way it was in Vanilla, or even worse. Roundhouse SA hardly ever hits twice in any of Cammy’s hit confirms. Best to use toward. Plus, when you have the opponent cornered, using roundhouse SA will always put you in the corner instead. So far here are combos I find most useful for her, aside from the Sako combo, which still works against the characters it used to work against.
When hit confirming off of a crouching short, seemingly best to either do:
cr short, cr jab, cr strong xx toward spiral arrow,
or
cr short, cr jab, cr short xx roundhouse spiral arrow
My preference is the first because it allows you to be able to plink to never miss the link
My favorite off of a crumple is:
cr strong, cr fierce, cr toward xx toward SA
This has seemed to work against bigger characters, although I’ve only tried Rufus:
j fierce, cr strong, cr strong, cr toward, toward SA
You can’t use short SA in any of these aside from the Vanilla day 1 hit confirm. It doesn’t extend far enough to hit.
To me it seems like they made AE a rushdown game, but took most of the rushdown away from Cammy. It’s gonna be nearly impossible to stay in on an experienced player now. Gone are the days where you could lock a player down with TKCS, or sit back and build meter with it. She can still use it to avoid DPs, and still time it to be a decent wakeup tool at times. But basically blocking her correctly on wakeup can do wonders at getting her off of her, and probably keeping her off of you. But, that’s just what I believe at this point, less than 24 hours after the game came out.
