Seeing how the topic is under discussion, I just want to say one thing. Sometimes it has felt that when you want to be serious about something, you get trolled. Then when you want to troll just to have fun and fit in, everyone takes you serious and shits on you. Some comments I don’t even find funny but just to make up for it I’d rather just play an act of being stupid or childish. That’s why I don’t post a lot like I used to, its like people make their own rules to a game or they’re just elitists. Karma can be a bitch and this community isn’t gonna go anywhere if people don’t learn to get along or respect each other.

The truth is that our scene, be it Tampa/Sarasota/St. Pete is weak. The owner of a barcade down here in Sarasota was kind enough to give us a sweet spot to play, and yet there is a total of about six of us who are regular. I did my part in advertising and posting flyers everywhere… everywhere. i have some 40-odd number of friends on the communities facebook yet we average 6-12 people every week. xxNOBODYxx, could come from a place where the scene is much larger, and someone like that does have the right to say our scene sucks. I understand that not everyone can make the 45 minute drive to Sarasota to play ever week, but the fact of the matter is… the group is relatively small irregardless.
I’ll tell you that nothing is more disheartening then to load up 4 CRT’s setup four xbox and rearrange the furniture, and have only 8 people show. Turns out that noone other then the core group of players in Sarasota/Venice plays fighting games.

The players do. So everyone complaining and new to the scene read line 1 and let’s see how serious you are.I’ve had numerous guys including myself that travel to peoples house including mine and/or host just to get games in including the “Hands Monster” himself! So if you haven’t hosted or traveled beyond 1 place where 6 people show up then you can’t talk because what you guys don’t know and won’t know until you try and be more social that there are gatherings that happen weekly between almost everyone in Tampa even OSAN" the dojo". New people just seem to want to be pampered and catered to and not put in the hustle,grind and sacrifice to get that competitive gaming in. As a new person, and only speaking on my behalf, I’d say this isn’t true. Anyone who has sat down with me and knows me knows that I stay in practice mode, even in Marvel, which I suck so hard in. And I hit the few people I know up **ALL THE TIME **for games to try to learn these matchups, even the ones I still don’t know in Super. If there’s a secret society in the gaming community here, then that’s just silly. Cliques and shit won’t make a community better.
Anyone who is trying to get better at the game, and empties themselves to learn will learn in casuals. Every time I play you in Super, I put the serious mode on and make every match a serious effort to winning. There’s no money on the line. There’s no rep. But every match we have, I play you like it’s a tourney match, no matter what character I’m using or you’re using.
Bob told me last week that he’d have my TE ready by the time AE came out, so, hopefully this is still true, and I’ll have it tomorrow. If there is anyone free between now and Thursday morning, I’ll be glad to travel anywhere within 45 min of Brandon to play Marvel or AE. If you’re interested, pm me your cell and we can go from there.
