Can anyone recommend a game that I can play that I could be good at (all of you know my playstyle)? I know 3SO is coming out soon, but 3S’ parry system annoys the living hell out of me. Adonis suggested Hakumen for Blaz Blue (Hazama looks sweet too). Marvel isn’t working out.
EDIT: I’ve got 5 on Mike J. I think he can eek out a 10-8 victory.
You can straight have my copy. I picked it up on PS3 so no need for the 360 copy anymore. If you have some cheapo PS3 game Id check it out, but it’s not necessary.
@ Mike G: I’ve got a 20" CRT TV here that i’m not using at all. Do you want to keep it at your place as a spare setup for games at your place? I know you said your newer place was big and good for hosting

Something about having my EX Shoryu as an anti-air fully parried against me struck me as… Kinda effin dumb.

^-i would tend to agree. Cant wait for the game to come out.
If you’re getting your EX Shoryuken fully parried, that means a few things.
- You’re getting predictable with your anti-airs.
- They’re empty jumping you so just throw them.
- They are pretty good at this game (I’m assuming you have to be at least decent to parry a full EX Shoryuken.) and you should respect that
It’s just another question to ask yourself when they jump in.

1 and 3 are wrong. The game is pretty slow so it a lot easier to parry things like anti-airs on reaction. 2 is wrong because if they empty jump then they can tech when they hit the ground.
To stop your anti-airs from getting parried you have to do more complex ones, like c.hp xx shoryu. Even that gets parried on occasion, though. Too bad the parry system is pretty terrible in 3S! It was better in New Generation (SF3).

I can understand why there are people in this town who don’t like the parry system, it discourages rush down HEAVILY, and Tallahassee is a rushdown oriented town, save for Chris and James (correct me if I am wrong). Overall, I don’t feel that there is anything wrong with the game overall, I feel its a really solid game, and I would expect people who haven’t played it alot (read: Chris A and Mike J) to give it a honest to god shot before saying what you don’t like about the game. I played the hell out of the game when I was in high school, albeit not really all that competetively (I wanted to but daytona had no scene and Logan gave me the wrong phone number) It is my favorite street fighter game. I love the characters, I feel they’re more interesting than any of the playstyles ST offered me, I love the combo system and I can’t get mad if someone parried my shit cause that was a hella hot read ON REACTION, and im not talking just a anti-air parry, im talking about ground game parry and punish. Im pumped for this game and Im probably gonna be at the SLC for a good 2 weeks leaching off of their internet, just to play the hell outta the game online. I really hope 3SO brings back the game into the mainlight for awhile, Ill probably start including it in the tourney lineup for a bit too.
I just hit autopilot and teleport to chair everytime. It feels so safe.
If I play anymore AE I think I’m just.going to play Ryu. No gimmicks, no bullshit, just play the game.
