Actually, Tron is the counterpick assist. Her assist is** much** better than Haggar’s.
Haggar is better than tron for some things, for one, haggarhits both sides. Bet you won’t see haggar hit in the back ( or the point char he’s covering) by a crossup berserker slash while he’s spinning!

How viable is a mixup involving Akuma’s teleports? I’ve started trying to develop resets (used a few last night and got some good results) and a better oki/tag in offense using whirlwind/Ryu tatsu and teleport, and wanted to know whether it should be something to practice more often.
Secondly, what’s a good lead in for Mags and Storm?
EDIT: Jay, SSF question. How viable of a strategy would it be to try and push Rose to the corner with the intent of weakening her footsie game? The one thing I noticed was that every string pushed me out of range so that you could get a free c.MP and am looking for ways to avoid/counter that. ShinKur did that to me too at FR.
Not going to answer the Akuma question 'cause I’d have to have training mode in front of me to mess with it for a second, but at the very least call assist + teleport to the other side is always a good mixup with anyone that can do it provided you can combo from the assist.
And what exactly do you mean ‘lead in’ for Mag/Storm? Good character to start with both of them behind? Good character to have in front of either of them? Mag/Storm in that order works rather well…anyone can precede Storm because Hailstorm is amazing, few characters maximize Magneto as a followup because Shockwave and Tempest are both difficult to DHC with effectively.

Sorry, meant ways to get in. I noticed that C was being used judiciously on Tuesday as a get in tool (and maybe lock down?), but are there certain angles I should approach with it?

Chris: I played around with Akuma the other day and his teleport is a tad slow. Plasma Beam, Unibeam, and Drones seem to be the best for crossing up with it.
Triangle jump c with mag is very good because in some situations it CAN crossup, and it has a pretty long horizontal hitbox. Tri jump S I THINK has more vertical hit box so you can hit from higher up if range/crossing up is not a concern. With storm her B trijump can crossup but I like S more with her. Especially for jump float cancel instant overhead shenanigans. In general though following a good horizontal/beam assist to get in, for one because that prevents you from eating an antiair normal (which I get murdered by too often seems like :(. ) and for two so you can get them blocking that to give time for a decision if you hit or do not to try another overhead, a low, dash back out for safety and try again, etc.

Figured it out this year in January for mvc2 but it seems to applicable to more than 1capcom game with push blocking in it. Its definitely a game changer, especially in this game. I’ve been showing it to people lately and no one has told me they know about it so it looks like its a pretty new trick.
