I’m seeing it right now as a race to DLC or patches. Skullgirls could use more characters for variety, SFxT needs serious tweaking.
xT is such an immense fuckup on Capcom’s part. Their desire to go for a cash grab has backfired with such force I don’t know if they can save it at this point even if it becomes a much better game. It’s a shame that Capcom is the face of fighters when everyone else is doing it better right now. (I mean business-wise, I still think Marvel 3 is the most fun right now)
On another note I’m pissed. A few months back I decided I wanted to play a Monk because I had seen multiple informal polls that were pegging them as one of the least interesting classes, and now for a few weeks I’ve been seeing them neck and neck with Barb for first class people are going to play. I’ve already hyped myself up for Monk so I’m not going to switch, so someone needs to make everyone else switch.
I think Ron said he’s not interested in Skullgirls because there’s no character that really stands out to him as someone really fun to play?
Honestly, that game could use a bit of tweaking, too. Last 8otb top 3 were all Ratio 2 teams, X/Double-Butt assist. Peeps were whorin’ that butt so hard. Chris G (not like I take everything that guy says as gospel) said that if you weren’t using Double Butt assist you basically didn’t stand a chance.
I know they’re working on a patch and really, I hope it includes movelists and some good training mode options (block and pushblock options, tech options, record/playback)… if they don’t get to any balancing stuff on this patch, I guess I won’t be too disappointed. I haven’t put that much time into the game because of the lack of these training mode options.
I only kept watching that pokemon crap cuz of dem boobs.

My problem with Skullgirls is deeper than the characters. Yes that’s most of it and it’s still a pretty fun game, but I find it telling that all these people are sucking the game’s dick calling it the greatest fighter released since the “rebirth” yet none of them are even really playing it (except skisonic!).
That’s before everyone started teleporting around telling skellies they were already dead.
I’m only truly enjoying one character in Skullgirls so far are just filler to keep Painwheel competitive.

SFxT is dangerously close to being the new Capcom Fighting Jam - I wouldn’t be surprised to see its competitive presence drop a ton after Evo. The release of the DLC characters might breathe a bit more life into it, but they’ve kinda’ screwed themselves from day one with that strategy.
Skullgirls is going to keep getting better, I hope. Double’s Hornet Bomber assist is a prime example of a first order optimal strategy. Thankfully, the Civil War finals showed that it’s already being worked around, plus it’s already been recognized by Mike Z as a glitch and will be fixed a bit anyway. It’s a good game, really hope it actually gets played for a while.
I’m rollin’ Monk, too late to switch! Might roll Witch Doctor to bring back the old Summon Necro days (rollin’ in a dungeon 15 deep with skeletons!), but Monk looks like it’s going to be both a solo PvE beast and a PvP nightmare.

I am going to do everything possible to name my Wizard “Merlin”. It’s all about names. I tried playing WoW very early on and I got the character name “Stephen”. They emailed me like a year ago to tell me they were taking it from me because I hadn’t played in like 5 years, haha.
Also, I don’t see how WD or Monk can be the least talked about, that seems to be all anyone is talkin about. The other three all seem low-radar right now comparatively (to me, anyways).
Speaking of loan Mike J, do you still have my Wiimote/Skyward Sword?
Final note, does anybody want to buy my PS3 copy of SFxT? I’m considering selling it.
