He also has strong views about women.
Heyoooooo!
He has some good points at the beginning, but goes off on a tangent about governing what method of control we can use at tournaments. He even admits his reasoning holds no weight, which begs to question why even say it during a product review? I already know this man isn’t professional in any light, but calling for a ban because it makes playing games easier is retarded.
I wouldn’t necessarily say its retarded. I mean wouldn’t you say giving the option to block both left and right at the same time would justify something not being allowed? (I realize that is not what this is about, just an example)
And to compare to sports, don’t they ban steroids that give an unfair advantage? Or for example in the MLB they use wooden bats while they use aluminum ones in college.
Not saying I agree/disagree with his ideas or opinions. Just saying I wouldn’t call it retarded!
Aris isn’t professional? I thought he was.
Regardless, there are arguments for either side, I honestly feel a little jilted that i need to go buy a HItbox for however much money just so I’ll be on equal footing as far as the controller goes. At the same time though, there are players out there that solely play their games on hitbox and by banning the hitbox, you alienate those players. It could be seen as a cheapening a player’s skill to a certain degree, much like macros or turbos.

Cross Assault
You bought an arcade stick to be on equal footing, no?
Logan, retail hitboxes have safe guards for this. When opposing directions are pressed simultaneously, priority is given to neutral for left right, and up for up down. Besides, pads can do this too.
Also, he wasn’t arguing the free crossup blocking. His main gripe was the lowered execution barriers.
Notice the parentheses, where I mentioned I realize that is not what this is about. I am not using that as a reason for or against hitbox. Just an example of something that could be considered unfair if a certain peripheral allowed it.

Whoops, jumped the gun, sorry.
Regardless, in his perfect world, everyone would play on stick. Which isn’t feasible for everyone, or good for growth in the community.
Sticking with ps controller all the way for tekken here.
Incorrect, I bought an arcade stick because I wanted to learn how to play on stick, as well as its the regular for most if not all fighting games. I’ll agree with you that players being restricted to stick does hinder the growth of the community, but the hitbox is something different all together. LIke Logan, I’m not for or against the use of the hitbox, but I do kind of agree with the idea thatlowering the execution level of the game due to the controller you are using can be construed as an unfair advantage.
Edit: Logan, who should I pick up besides Lee and that isn’t a mishima if I want to take this game seriously.
Play lee/law! Take your pick on Marshall/forest. They are both pretty legit.

The real answer is just wait for Violet.

By your logic, arcade sticks are unfair because you can hold/hit multiple buttons easier than on pad.

Arcade sticks are what the games were built with and intended to use. Controllers were a necessary adjustment to appeal to a wider audience. The Hitbox is neither of these things and is strictly better than both - it is a cost to artificially raise the limits of what is possible with standard devices.
The Hitbox is the Tink Tink of fighting game peripherals.

Let’s all just play on DDR pads and call it a day

EXSHALENT!
I would totally play Lee/Violet. How hard is Lili and how legit is she. Chris told me she was kinda dumb in T6.
Lee is one of the most execution intensive characters in the game. I’ve played Lee and Lili at tournaments and let me tell you, you probably don’t have time for Lee. (not saying you can’t just that if time is of the essence, Lili is your girl). Lili gets 50/50 mixups (which is what tekken is all about) for insane combos on easy ass moves. She’s dumb.
Lee gets the same damage off of combos that require 10 times the practice and are inconsistent for everyone not name FightingGM. I mean the b+2~mist step combos took me longer than almost anything I’ve learned in Tekken. If you are going to put that much time in play Kazuya/Hei and be better than the rest of Florida…seriously…not joking. They are good.
Law(Marshall) is super dope. One of the best in the game IMHO. Still haven’t developed enough intel on Forrest.
Run that Marshall/Lili and never look back. Easy learning curve, good damage, no real bad matchups, good synergy.

To backtrack a bit Tyger announced the next SU for next month and I’d much rather go to that than CEO if possible, and I didn’t set aside any money for CEO when no one took my bait anyway so count me out on that even if there happens to be room.

Well I’m going to do my best to save for that. So count me in
Steve: put me down for Orlando.
