T.hawk!!! Yes!!!

Well it depends on how the Sagat/Ryu/Ken plays.

If they stay back and zone I try to study the pattern to the point that I can avoid taking damage and so i can slowly move closer to the character. If they are really spammy with their fireballs I’ve been able to time a quick jump into dive right as they fire out a hadoken or a tiger, like I said it’s timing and there’s probably better ways to do this but this is what I’ve been doing, you could also probably replace the dive with a D.HP for mixup reasons if your close enough :).

If they are a bit more agressive I actually play a lot more defensively, punishing LPs and LKs with a weak 360 and certain jump-ins with Condor. I also do some simple combos when I can.

Maybe this will help, probably not. I’m newer to SF but I’ve done pretty well in other fighters lol.

do you think the mexican typhoon can challenge the spd in terms of strength and fear inducing power?

I usually Condor Dive against Sagat which is usually unsafe but I wait till he uses a few fireballs. Once I establish that they usually start to try to upppercut then I start going short with the dive and and just command grab them when they land. After a while you start to be able to do what you want.

Ken and Ryu I treat the same. Garbage. You pressue them and punish them when they mash. Atleast thats what I do. I have no had trouble with them really =/ Sagat much either. What do they do that troubles you?

Well from my experience a weak SPD seems to have more range then Typhoon, as I’m not able to block punish certain things with Typhoin that I can with SPD. I still use Typhoon like I would SPD, like after a jump over on wake-up on certain characters or in short links but it seems like it has less priority then SPD from my experience (this probably needs to be tested.) What I also noticed is you can’t really nail the grab after his D.HP which sorta blows, the stun hits them away a bit too much so now they have time to actually respond to the grab if you wait :frowning: but in this case you could probably just link into it. I’ll try doing some testing since im on now :).

Also I ment to say Tomohawk not Condor in my last post XD.

It’s scarier. Lp is better in every way than lp spd, and you get next to them with advantage after mp typhoon and even with fp.

I don’t think in that Tornado is beter then SPD in EVERY way, maybe better in general yes but I’m sure theres some things that SPD has over it.

I also did some testing and found out a few things.

-D.HP can actually stuff SRK’s if timed right, I hit Ken out of it mid air, was slightly to the right of the SRK.
-You can’t go jab->lp tornado, it will lag the grab animation and you will punished for it. This applys to a few moves.
-You can punish quite a few lp/lk moves (including specials) with a lp tornado, this is character dependant but should work on anyone that doesn’t have a fast and good follow-up.
-Dive is horrid, A lot of things can beat it out if the dive goes into it’s hitbox and it’s horribly unsafe (but we all knew this.)
-RH is good for long range poking, I have yet to get punished for it and it lets me bait for a D.Hp or another RH.
-DF.LP has some anti-air properties, tested it and i was able to stuff jump-ins going to test specials soon.
-His only cross-up is D-HP don’t let anyone fool you, I sat in training and tested this.

More testing will be up soon, go ahead and retest this stuff if you want :).

a friend on psn told me my hawk was terrible and that i should do his trials and learn some of his combo’s even though I’ve done 19/24 of his trials…

  1. Good to know but if im picturing it right, it mighta been a bad dp, i cant tell.
2.Right, you cant combo into any type of command grab. Ever. In any SF game. This is not KOF
  2. This sounds like a really bad idea trying to punish lp/lk with tornados. You’re probably just 360ing through bad block strings. Good players will bait you hard on this.
  3. Dive is not horrid at all. Its not spammable (never was, not even in HDR) but its actually really good and either trades or stuffs things completely. This shit it loses to is like jabs where the risk reward is so in your favor if they screw up.
  4. Youre playing shitty comp if they arent focus baiting rh sometimes. It happens a lot. 22 frames of recover on st.rh makes it good focus bait but its definitely not a bad poke.
  5. df.lp needs to be removed. move is -4 on HIT. Really? And does nothing. I dont even bother with it for anti air. EX DP or d.fp
  6. J.lk can crossup. Ive done this before. J.jab can also crossup but thats really specific.

Alright good to know, like i stated im good at other games not SF XD btw we are in the same area grid

and the complaining continues
awhile ago i was kicked from a room after i beat the host’s juri with T.Hawk(during the match he said is that all your gonna do is grab? and after i beat him to win the match he said yeah this guy has no skill he’s trash garbage…)
and when i try to explain to him that i was a grappler so grabbing him was the main idea he said i don’t care! you had no skill no technique! and then he kicked me out of the room

Lol no way. I do the same thing when my friends and I get together, they call me roundhouse adon lol.

anyone got any online tutorials for this guy…its great when you post the combos but i need to see it in action to actually get it…thats the one thing i liked about tekken…they showed you the combos.

check on youtube, there are a few of them, T Hawk Trails SSF4, they are easy i finish them in like 5 min lol.

I was really hype for Hawk but im not feeling it, maybe im too used for rushdown i played offense rog and rufus most of my SF4 time who knows, i’ll still play him but not as much as others =/…

Thats how it is for people that like grapples. I’ve been kicked from so many rooms of people complaining that I wasn’t doing combos so I have no skill since all I would do is AA, find openings and SPD. Its like the SF world thinks the only way you have skills is if you can learn all the combos. They must still think this is MVC series.

it’s getting to be really annoying

There are a ton of crybabies playing because the game is still new. Happened with HDR and vanilla.

though after hearing the thoughts of players here
iam a little worried that once they start getting better
T.Hawk will have a harder time actually getting in…
