Anyone still trying to use him? I’m switching over to Rog soon, just wanted to make sure someone else picks up after I leave. If you have any questions go ahead and fire away. I’ll google all the right answers and shot them back your way.
Wait, you’re giving up on the Hawk, is that what you’re saying? I actually switched to him coming *from *Rog. Just wait, you’ll be bored with him soon enough.
and there goes my favorite hawk player…
Sellout.
Fuck! I HATE Fei Long!!!
There… that’s better…

Wow. He got Guchi with an instant Rising Hawk, he tried to evade the cross-up with a reversal Tatsumaki.
It seems Ken has a decent way of disrupting Hawk’s loop, besides spamming reversal Jab SRK: reversal Tatsumaki in the corner, for a fast reset.
That’s the worse I’ve ever seen Hiroyan execute. lol. On his worse executing day, looks like how I play on my best day. swoon
wassup hawk players. I wanna learn hawk now. How the FUCK YOU do sako tick nigga?
270 motion from up to forward during Neutral Standing Jab active frames. After you press Jab, press strong and Fierce as well and start the 270 till forward, and keep holding forward +punches. T.hawk will walk forward, you dont need to walk too much, only till the opponent gets out of blockstun. When you think that will happen, go to defensive crouch and release Fierce, Strong and Jab, one after another, and in that order.
The timing for everything is very strict, so you will have to train this thing a lot. If you do the 270 too late, Thawk may jump. If you do the opposite, T,hawk will not be able to grab the opponent when walking, because the typhoon motion will not be “buffered” anymore. The ideal would be to only go to forward at Standing Jab’s recovery frames or near the end of block/hitstun. You also have to release Fierce first and Jab last, because you have more frames to grab them with Jab, so leave that for the last attempt.

I’m not a master at it, but i can do it like 50% of the time from p1 side and somewhat like 80% of the itme in the p2’s side. I’m more of a gief player, but hawk is my second. please correct me DJF/DSP if i said something wrong.
Thank you SO MUCH BORN2SPD! you are the BEST FUCKIN PERSON IN THE ENTIRE ST COMMUNITY PERIOD!

when i’m with Hawk i hate:
Fei, Cammy, Dictator and Honda, but honda is so overused vs hawk that sooner or later you’ll learn the matchup faster than the other ones.
Totally forgot I posted that.
Yeah, I actually kinda enjoy the Honda matchup now. Not that I think it’s fair or something, but after a while you start to pick up and develop tricks and playing the mind game more, rather than get frustrated.
Cammy is a friggin’ nightmare too.
What was Capcom thinking with Cammy vs Hawk? Cammy has way way better range that HAwk, but how tall is she? 5’, she is fucking 5 feet! then u have T hawk who is 7’, 7 feet vs 5 feet, dafuck! weight not even considered, in RL, Hawk would split Cammy in half, or maybe make her her sex slave?
That should be his 720 against her.
She’s got enough crap matchups though. It just sucks that one of her best is against another character with a lot of bad matchups.
I tired that 270 ish and its not working for me. But in the process I found a different method. Which is easier for me to do at the moment, yet on the down side, its completely unsafe and extremely punishable. Here’s a video of what I’m talking about:

If you only want T.Hawk to walk a bit and grab, then your method works, sorta.
But unfortunately its inferior to the original method, because:
- The motion ends at up. If the opponent performs a reversal, T.Hawk will jump and the opponent may hit T.Hawk in the air.
- Your typhoons are not negative edge. If T.Hawk don’t jump, he will do a punch, and a reversal will hit t.hawk.
- T.Hawk walks a bit, crouches, and only then throws. In the original method, he goes from walking animation directly into grab animation or block.
The original method is superior (it ends at defensive crouch and no buttons are pressed for the typhoon, only released), once mastered it will be 100% safe, no matter what the opponent does (unless you’re facing Gief or another T.Hawk).
