I’m hearing this a lot. T. Hawk is boring, “so boring”, lame, Troll Hawk etc.
I wonder why? Grapplers in general get a lot of hate, but T. Hawk gets the most out of them all.

Plus everything he does Zangieif can do better and for less effort.
That’s not true.
Tiers or no tiers all I know is that I always have a blast playing him and win the vast majority of my matches with him and that’s good enough for me.
I hate to say it but I agree with him o_O
Hawk has the most ASS special moves in the whole entire game -
Hawk’s EX Moves and regular Mexican Typhoons are really solid at least. He’s a pretty solid character despite being the most flawed and he does indeed have the tools to win.
People might see Hawk as lame and boring because he doesn’t have as much personality/story development and diversity in his moves compared to some other characters but he is undoubtably a unique character design in his own right. He is the only grappler in the game with a genuine DP and a dive move. He also has the best looking animation for a 360 IMO. Personally for me like I also like his tragic story. He lost his dad, his land, his girlfriend (Juli), just about everything he loved and mattered to him but he still lives on and has this fierce determination to get back what’s rightfully his.
So yeah, I like him a lot even though he’s a T.Suck!
I don’t agree. You need to go in on Fuerte before he has bar and knock him down. And even after he has bar it’s pretty easy to keep him guessing. Also, if they are anti-airing you with tortilla you can just do a delayed dive to alter your jump arc. You just have to be patient and not get frustrated.
Completely agree with this. I don’t think El Fuerte is a bad matchup at all either. I don’t think Hawk has enough to have the upperhand against El Fuerte but I don’t think El Fuerte dominates Hawk either. I think it’s a really even matchup that basically boils down to whoever is the more patient player.
Play against iPeru in a first to 10.
Realize that el fuerte can run away the entire time while pot shotting you whilst you have to walk forward to catch him.
You’ll see how bad that matchup is.
Exactly, Fuerte is terrible for Hawk. Once he gets a knockdown it’s bad, then run run run like the Phoenix song
If not iPeru play Seedogpoo or Paper
Not really. It is easy to predict Zangief’s rushdown compared to T. Hawk. He has more options than just j.HP all day.
As for this tier list crap, Hawk should be mid-tier tops. It is true most people do not have experience with him, hell I think his worst match-ups are not that bad now, in fact I like to face fireball characters (besides Akuma) more than anyone. For some reason it is just fun to play against Sagat than like Guy or anyone.

wah wah wah…
I’m surprised. This community-made Tier List is actually extremely accurate IMO, except for one matchup though. Hawk vs Gen is 7 - 3 in Gen’s favor? I doubt it. I have Gen as a secondary and this matchup is not 3 - 7 for Hawk. I’d say this matchup is more along the lines of 5 - 5. 7 - 3 is Dee Jay/Guile matchup standards and the Gen matchup is not THAT bad.

Gen does have the better normals and footsies but Hawk has tools to rival that. Hawk’s C.MK is a really good poke that Gen players hate and not only that Gen is free as heck when you’re in his face or when he’s Knocked down.
It’s not surprising. We all knew it. Turbo Hawk is just better in EVERY aspect than his IV counterpart. Accept it and go play Turbo instead. You’ll have more fun and you will also improve your skills and execution a lot faster.
I am still hoping for Yokuboo to win a major, though.
