Swedish Cartoonist Who Drew "Muhammad" Assaulted

If christians did talk about the standard pop dogma of hell, wouldn’t it be clear that they are nothing but ignorant?

pretty much.

Is it okay? No. Is it common sense to expect retaliation of some sort when you do something like that and then basically step up into an area where it will be easy to attack you, such as on a stage? yes.

I’m with weeks on this one, but I’m gonna wear a motorcycle helmet in case someone aims for my mouf.

maybe not, but if the WRONG christian sees it, that person could wind up on the buisness end of a REAL bible thumping.

I would’nt put a percentage on it, but I agree that I think a whole lot of people wouldn’t find it very funny. This guy went and did it about a figure that is loved by WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more people than my mother, despite him not being a relative.

I stopped reading after the first page because I’m pretty sure the same arguments would continue on for the next 23. My two cents is this. from what I read, it doesn’t look like the guy had intended to offend islam or muslims. The thing is, when he realized that they were indeed angry, he should’ve apologized, explained himself, and let it go. after that, he’s done what he could to make peace and can do no more. He pressed the issue, and someone pressed their head into his mouth. he coulda avoided that.

Hmm… you can’t really use the laws with in Torah as an example of Religious Violence in Christianity. The reason is because they were actually the Laws of Moses and not of God. Even though we view Moses of a high biblical status, we are very aware of the documented mistakes he made as their law giver and leader. Moses’ whole characteristics where very much Egyptian like, because he grew up and was also taught by them which is why his leader and law giving qualities where that harsh. Has this law in Duet ever been practiced in Christianity before? I doubt so. Because God already gave the actual commandment of how to treat disobedient children after Moses gave his law concerning the punishment of rebellious kids: “Spare the rod, beat the child”, was the commandment from God on how to deal with bad kids. All those war events in the books after exodus where all done under Moses’ commands, not God’s. They are not teachings but just documentations of how that society worked. So using the penalty’s and the war stories as an example of Christianity’s dark principles and priorities concerning morality is inaccurate. If so these events and laws in Deuteronomy are an example of our the Scriptures actual Moral laws, then Jesus, God himself, should have been like Moses as a leader. Unfortunately, Jesus’ way actually “democratic” like, which wasn’t the way Moses governed the Israelites during his time.

I don’t think the whole “Immorality” was ever a good way to debate on religion, it’s highly misrepresenting. I never saw violence as a reason to dismiss the Quran/islam. There are actual reasons that should be focused though…

Actually, Moses says in Deuteronomy multiple times that he’s being directed by God on certain matters. Whether that applies to every command in Deuteronomy is up for debate, but it most certainly applies to those where it’s mentioned. The only argument you can make against that is that Moses was either lying or mistaken, which brings up a whole mess of problems for the credibility of the Bible and Judeo-Christian beliefs.

Moses lines of leadership where more like “for God” than “from God”. Thing is, they all felt as if the laws and actions where of service to God. The scribes in the NT thought so as well, yet they were wrong. As i said, those books are not Just about God’s first revelation to man, but also a documentation of Moses’ mistakes. Moses’ governorship was a reflection from his development in Egypt. The way he commanded is based on what he was possibly exposed to. The reason why the Laws applied to the Jews was because it was made during the time where Israel was not a full established nation. And society during that time was just as strict in allot of nations. This was probably a method in assuring the establishment of Israel which was important to the plan of God because he planned the Messiah to come out the Hebrews. Moses’ ways must have been based on that sole instruction, to keep order of the Sons of Israel and assure that the plan of the Messiah is safe. If you read before the time of Moses, that certain plan was nearly sabotaged twice. Moses’ errors does not touch any part of the credibility of the Bible because it was only documented stories of Israel’s history. Not all the prophets and figures of the OT where Saint like, take a look at David and Solomon for example. These guys had plenty of sins also, yet they were still chosen none the less.

That’s cool. And I think you’re 100% bitch made. Let’s move on.

What the fuck is this rambling about? How did the simple point of my comparison go right over your head? Re-read it again and try not to overthink.

lol I couldn’t help but honestly smirk at how much of a passive-aggressive bitch you are with this part. I can already picture what kind of a sniveling little bitch you are in real life.

But it’s cool, I can play your game too.

When I’m in jail for assaulting you, and you are freely insulting whatever it is that you want to exercise your right to insult, there will be other crazy fuck who’s a bit more extreme then me, and instead of merely assaulting you, he’ll might even murder you straight up. He might even bomb your fucking house. He might even kidnap your family and hold them ransom, to teach you a lesson. And it will be glorious.

And all this happens because you exercised your right to call Muhammad a “fairy tale bullshit”. Ain’t that a bitch?

That’s a cute belief, and I respect that.

Violence is wrong when it happens to innocent people

Violence isn’t wrong to immature, attention starved fucks who call a religious figure “fairy tale bullshit” or purposely draws said figure engaging in homosexual acts.

Wait, what? Did that not happen? Isn’t it BECAUSE that that “real” situation happened, that we even have this thread and its on its 23rd page?

I’m not gonna ask you if you are fucking dumb, because you are. You dumb ass.

Can I play the game?

I will hire someone to look like the Joker and unleash him onto the family. It’d be a combination of the TAS Joker and the Ledger Joker because of that one episode that has the Joker getting the driver’s license of this one person and keeping on an eye on him, but the Ledger Joker would have tracked down and killed the family members in a terrible way. Might add in Nicholson Joker just to add in the high as a kiteness of the Joker. Either way it’d be pretty scary to deal with.

But seriously speaking, I think it was just wrongheaded of Vilks to make an appearance like that after what he’s done. I’m not saying for him to shut down his life just because of his exercise in freedom of expression, but in the face of a riotous crowd, he continued on, either for being a dick or being brave where IMHO there was no reason to do so. There were warning signs from the crowd with a religion that has shown far more direct instances of violence based on their belief; the expectation of fair play is about as fair as being able to say the “n word” as a non-black without reaction. Change is slow and it does not help when Vilks shakes the boat so much that the passengers snap.

OC

Based on the context and which particular Bible you’re reading (Jeromian vs. King James vs. Whatever), I think it means shut the goddamn fuck up.

I think you’re confusing the passage with 1st Corinthians 14: 34-35, where St. Paul says:

“Let women be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but let them be in subjection, just as the Law says. If they want to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.”

By the way, I’m not a woman (I know my unbelievable attractiveness may have thrown you off, but the fact remains that I am a man). Furthermore, that would only apply in church.

Try again.

Religious discussions are banned again. You guys had your shot.
