About R3 & R4 in CvS2, I think they are fun, and thats about it. Optimally, 1/1/2 really does give you the most HP most of the time. If you really want to use a R3 or R4, you have to make sure the character has few bad match ups in general, or at least against the person you are playing/top tiers. Occassionally I use an R4 just for comic value.

About the whole R3 thing, It’s just that I always end up getting through the first 2 char. with Ken after the rest of my team is wasted, I also do better with Ken than Ryu, Especially with K-Groove.
I have CvS2 here at home, so I can try to figure out a 3rd character. It used to be Iori, but I just can’t get used to him with no rolling, even though I always got thrown around…
I guess I can make it: K-Groove Iori/Ryu/R2Ken
If that doesn’t work, I’ll just keep trying different combinations. Thanks for the advice too.

I also played the other person with the Terry hat yesterday there. It was Ryu/R3Ken Vs. R4Terry both of us used K-Groove.(If I recall) I barely won with a Shippu right out of nowhere. Pure luck I guess…

ryu is ok, and ken is iffy unless you’re really good with ken in general
just pick ken/ryu/and then cammy/blanka/sagat/other top tier
no point in picking up the game and not learning at least ONE top tier char
it’s gonna be hard for you to win even in casual if your team is shitty overall, and the more you lose the less you get to play and the less practice yer gonna get.

Back again, I’ve been trying some different team combos, but I STILL haven’t found a team of 3 that suits me, I will keep trying though. I just want to improve.
So with that, I will be at SVGL tomorrow at around 8 or 9. You can challenge me for a easy win, or a decent challenge, it all depends on skill and luck.
