As mentioned before, if you ban all the boss characters (save for Dan) the game is fine.
Some SvC matches from day one XBL. Not the greatest, but still fun to watch
I think banning the non-boss hiddens isn’t necessary. There are quite a few strong default cast characters already (Guile, Chun-Li, Tessa, Iori etc). It’s like MvC2 in the sense that if you take away the the god tier, the top tier will emerge as the new god tier to take their place because they’re no longer kept in check.
imo It’s kinda like MvC2/SFA3 in the sense that when you learn to embrace the games flaws/balance/messed up hitboxes, it can be ok.
Got a bunch of casual vids, will try and upload.
Some newer vids. Friends of the two players I linked above last year. This is from the same arcade. Sorry for the quality, and same disclaimer for the sound.
Above vids and more, now in playlist form. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=PL2829F9992C3332EE
Next batch will be better now that I’ve borrowed a cam. Can’t do anything about the karaoke bg sounds though.
so nobody here even tried remix???
This is what frustrates me about the whole SVC ‘debate’ everyone seems desperate to write it off as a useless game, yet even the vanilla arcade version is a viable and popular game in Asia and is a really common machine all over the world. It’s a FUN GAME with some issues, yet when a lot of these issues are FIXED (i.e input problems with chargers etc), everyone ignores it.
wtf? You are all playing on emus with roms anyway, why not play the FIXED version? Just cos it wasn’t officially released by SNKP???
please explain, people in this thread.
I’ve never heard of Remix, and it not being official probably has alot to do with it
Never heard of it.
You talking about this version?
^ Wow. Fuck that mess.
Then again, since this is a game I dont play seriously, I keep inifinte max mode and exceed. Just like I turn all the system directions on in 3S. But still not feeling the Iori super change the now blockable moves, boss nerfs ect.
I love this game. Now, if only I could find people that play it :\
Go to Asia it’s really common and popular
I was surprised to see my local arcade in CO still has a cab for this. And KOFXI
Remix looks like it has a lot of questionable motion changes.
I love the OST and listen to it while playing playing other fighters.
I only played it on xbl, but having played enough to be #1 n xbl I can at least say for sure that shina akuma, goenitz, dimitri, red arremer, serious mr karate, violent ken are definitely better.
Also that doesn’t include the other lower tier characters with infinites like tessa, earthquake, etc.
But XBL rankings don’t matter.
At all.
C’mon dude, you’re better than this.
It’s universally accepted that Zero and Geese are top 2. Don’t be an instigator.
Why though? what makes them better then everyone else? What can geese and zero do vs shin akuma’s unblockable infinites? And FYI I’ve hosted a few SVC tourneys so I have offline experience too.
I don’t think Shin Gouki should count >_>;
