I will say this and I’m done. I was terribly disappointed to see Russell go. I mean, it really put a damper on this season for me. I’m not really compelled to try and watch the episodes in a hurry anymore either, and the sad part about it is that his tribe thinks they did something right, when they’re going to end up getting killed when they get to the merge.
I’m cheering for Russell’s girls as well. I’d like to see Rob get taken out however. If his tribe isn’t smart enough to take him out before the merge, they’re borderline stupid.

Rob’s game is too strong right now. If his tribe doesn’t try to get rid of him before the merge, there’s going to be problems, especially since he has one immunity idol and the new clue right now. Sneaky sneaky.
All of the younger girls look pretty good and would get it, but so would Kristina. Fake tits or not, I will miss staring at them. I wonder how old she is? Probably mid-to-late thirties? She’s a law student when she’s that old? Shit confused me at first.

What would be even better is if the clue was for a different idol. I’m cheering for Rob just to show experience trumps idiocy. Russell’s tripe should have kept him until they’re guaranteed in the top 5 then use the last two challenges to eliminate him. Rob’s team better be thinking the same thing, but they seem star struck. If super secret former elite international agent had any kind of game he could have actually pulled a big blindside before Kristina left.

I was talking to someone about that yesterday. How exactly could Phillip pull anything off seeing as though he came off from the get go as crazy? It’s too late to try and pull anything off if you completely screw up a potential blindside on the very first tribal council. If he was stupid enough to do that, how could he even get people to tag along with a blindside he comes up with? No one trusted him after that. He’s been a sitting duck ever since.
What I like about the season so far is that it proved that Russel is absolute shit tier in this game. Why hasn’t her (or his girls) learned that making bonds is actually beneficial in this game :looney:
I guess what we learned is that Russell got lucky by making it to the end in the second season he was in because he was fortunate to being aligned with Parvarti who helped him pull off a number of moves. I don’t think he was pulling the strings as he thought, and the power of the idol saved him in the first season he was in.
Otherwise I think this is the worst season of Survivor I’ve watched in the years I’ve watched the show. There’s absolutely no gameplay whatsoever, and there’s no reason to think there will ever be any. Russell’s tribe is flat out stupid for throwing a challenge this early in the game, and Rob’s tribe is nothing more than a bunch of puppets who eventually will not vote him out. I’d be surprised to see him be blindsided.
This should be called Survivor Season 22: Rob wins for free. It’s his game provided he continues to win after the merge.
I doubt Rob would win even if he made it to the final two/three. He’s obviously playing the best now, and even though he has never won before, I doubt the jury would vote for a veteran to win it all. Regardless, his entire goal this season was to show Russel that Russel’s game wasn’t as good as Russel thought. Now that Russel is out and Rob is still in, the point has been made.
Right now it’s 7 vs 6, purple. I think two more votes and then a merge so they still have time to play around.
Russell didn’t have a chance to play the game, they were already out to get him from day one. They had eagle eyes on him, everything he did, and that’s why they felt that they already won a million dollars after voting him out? Never let producers edit fool you. They’ll only show you what they want you to see, would Russell lie about Sarita being the leader of the group… we don’t know why he told Phillip/Kristina that. And we didn’t know Dave really had no partna’ in the game like the others (according to Krista). Lots of stuff we don’t know but the producers can lead us one way when things are really going another.
As for Phillip, it’s not all on him. Andrea could have made the big blindside when Kristina was eliminated. She knew what was going on, if she would have switched her vote to Rob and convinced Kristina and Phillip to do the same then it would have been like Rob 3 votes, 2 Kristina, 2 Phillip. If you can convince anyone that Rob would easily backstab/blindside his own alliance and boost Phillip’s ego, that’s all you need. The closer to the merge they get, the harder it is to vote someone like Rob out but if they wanted to they still can. I just think these girls have no confidence going into a merge down in numbers. But if Phillip can convince them that going into the Merge 5 deep without Rob AND getting Matt back at the Merge so it’s 6 on 6 then it’s on but I don’t see that happening.
The worst Survivor I’ve seen within the last couple years is probably last year. (No real big idol play, no strategic moves, no big blindside). It was all about Fabio winning the last 4 immunity challenges.
One of Rob’s lackey’s will win but I want either Rob, Stephanie, or Matt to win it.
While the producer edit thing is true, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Russel isn’t as good as he and everyone else thinks he is. You can argue that he didn’t get to play the game, but in the end, whose fault is it really? Russel’s. His reputation is what did him in, even though he didn’t really get to play the game this time. Oh well.
Rob’s comment in heroes vs villains about Russel’s social game held true. It bit Russel in the ass all three seasons he’s been on.

That firefighter lady who had a chance to make a big move in the game fucked up, she could have easily made top 4 w/ Russel…Not only did they lose numbers they loss someone w/ the most experience when it comes to merges…Russel has always been good even without numbers…Guy was very passionate of the game & knew how to play survivor…
The problem w/ Russel is that he plays the game like your suppose to play the game…Too bad the people who come on the game are just idiots/gets butt hurt…
That’s implying you’re not one of the people he backstabs to get to the final three. It would be very, very difficult to keep him in the game to bring to the final three unless you’re part of his initial alliance like Pavarti was during Heroes vs Villains, but the problem with that, like in Pavarti’s case, you’ll end up losing because you’re associated with Russell.
People aren’t saying Russell doesn’t have game, but rather that his game is flawed. He doesn’t and will not play the social game (which Rob is doing very well at the moment); I’m not sure what people don’t understand about this. Yeah he plays other aspects of the game well, but you’re playing a game with human beings. It’s human nature to hold grudges and get butthurt. Russell never cared about people getting butthurt and was too stubborn to think that the social game matters. It has been his downfall not once, not twice, but three times… and the third time he didn’t even make it to the merge. If Russell was a god at Survivor he would have won already.
People don’t tend to realize that Survivor is a very “open” game. There are very little set rules in place that would likely remove you from the game (i.e. hitting/fighting someone, probably using the condoms/tampons provided outside of their intended purposes :lol:, and others). You can pretty much choose to play the villain and form alliance and backstab people until the end, play the good guy and just not step on any toes, or play the passive role. There isn’t really a correct way to play the game. Some strategies are better than others, but all are legit strategies to win (as proven by the past winners and their various strategies).
Russell didn’t get a chance to play the game, people were out to get him as soon as they saw him come out of the helicopter. I don’t know if people are in denial but the man did make it to the final tribal council when his team of 4 went up against the team of 8 at the merge in Samoa. At least 8 out of the 8 would be salty, especially since you think you have it in the bag. And you can’t make it that far by being nice and hope they vote each other out.
The game would be so different if it was Rupert, Ethan, Sandra or some other person instead of Russell.

Russel is TERRIBLE at Survivor.
To win the game is to get jury votes. Simple, yet it’s something Russel is absolutely terrible at. Of course he’s going to get to the end, pretty much everyone figured out get to the end with him and win. There’s no reason to vote out an easy goat.
His success is pretty much attributed to finding idols(and John and Tyson’s stupidity), but without them he’s trash.
As for this season, y’all realize that Rob ALSO has an infamous history? But because of his far superior social game, it’s been a nonfactor. Russels bad social game is attributed to not even trying to bond with the other tribemates in his alliance to secure a more comfortable position

Russell’s game hasn’t evolved - He thinks that he can be a huge douche straight up, without any elements of being sneaky + dealing with a COMPLETE team. He thinks that by just having 3, you can go crazy.

I finally caught up with all of the episodes, and it’s been pretty good. Phillip is one of the most insane people I’ve ever seen. Orange took the safe route, and they probably will be picked off
If the teams merge before David is eliminated, I think David may win this season.
If not, I think either the marine or Rob’s lackey guy will win.
