I haven’t seen Arrow or Flash but after 10 years of Smallvile I’ll never watch a CW show again. I imagine the purpose is to get people like myself and the CBS audience to check out the show.
I felt the same way after I had to give up on Smallville, but Arrow and The Flash are legit.
Arrow is legit until Season 3.
Also the same studio making Flash and Arrow is making this, and if the universe isn’t shared, there could still be crossovers ala Power Girl shenanigans.

2nd promo is better, but eh. They really made supergirl as uninteresting as possible in those promos. “LIKE, OMG, how can i balance work and totally being a superhero. Let me ask my gay bff what to do. O M G”

I don’t think this will end well for them… one reason being the typical CBS audience… it still has that nasty stigma of being “The Old Folks’ Network”. I don’t think the grandparents across America are down to watch Supergirl on a regular basis, and the younger generations are already hooked on CW for superhero and supernatural stuff. The audiences just don’t match up here.
At least she’s fairly cute… but even there… CW has perfected the eye-candy game too. The girls on the various CW shows tend to be the cream of the crop…no other networks can fuck with the kind of quality sex appeal they’re putting on the table every week. Actually, now that I think about it… CBS is about dead last in that category, and it always has been.

[details=Spoiler] I never rated a pilot highly, this one is 5/10. I’m okay with the girly and cute stuff but the clichés were too much, then the completely different atmosphere when she puts the suit on kept me in.
Melissa is cute and Jimmy, please go away. There’s potential, I’m optimistic for the serie as a whole. In the end I kinda enjoyed it, it was just hard during some scenes.
I hope we’ll get crossovers with Arrow and Flash.
