Didn’t waste my time with Smallville but its been stated for years Michael Rosenbaum’s Lex was damn good.
Young Justice Luthor maybe top tier worthy but his parts were limited, and he operated secret throughout the series.
Kevin Spacey’s Lex had potential but…well, its Superman Returns 
Gene Hackman’s Lex was good for his time.
…and then you have whatever the hell that was in BVS!!
I hated Smallville but even I like Rosenbaum’s Luthor.

This is he only list that matters. Just because Hackman and Spacey are top tier actors don’t mean they were good Luthors. Their version of Luthor came off as a snake oil sales man. I think the John Shea version of Luthor was better those. At least he had more elements of what made Luthor great in the comics.

I hope they cast off the awkward Flash 1990’s feel of the first season, where they pusyfoot around the comic villains half of the time. I enjoyed the show, but constantly dodging the comic nerd stuff was rough. Looking forward to CW going whole hog, and I just love the tone of the series.
So no matter how rough Supergirl season 1 was, it’s still better than any of the trash Hack Snyder will be doing to the DC movies.

My sincere apologies to David Ayer. He makes fun movies, but Suicide Squad just looks like a generic action movie with some bright colors. Sorry David, going to have to throw you under the bus as a sacrifice to be rid of moron Snyder.
