Supercade or GGPO?

Hey, Supercade just updated for the 3rd time today and I tried to log in and got this error:

‘Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted’

There’s no router. It’s a direct line.

hey damdai
is the Win7 replay not loading bug fixable? it’s pretty annoying copying them to desktop each time

I restarted my system and I don’t have that error anymore.

I had the error before and the only way to fix it is to restart your computer.

I’m not aware this is a problem. I have win7 and replays load fine. When you launch a replay from website or client, the replay is downloaded to the same directory as the emulator and ran from there.

I run supercade on win7. the only problem ive been having is just random crashing during games.

on win7 too. never crashed. played random brazilians and it was very playable. Id assume its even better against local people.

It’s not crashing, it’s connection dropping, which seems to happen to unstable connections, though I haven’t found the cause yet. I’ve noticed your ping often fluctuates greatly, even though you live close to me. I forget what kind of connection you have, but if it’s wireless, you will most likely experience inconsistent connections that often drop out.

Non-browser 2DF is back? This is spectacular. 2DF runs everything better than GGPO for me.

What? Time to get back to playing then.

SuperCade is by far the superior online fighting game emulation/client right now. Very enjoyable games even with 150ms pings. Please support SuperCade! If you are not playing emulated online games on SuperCade, you are wrong.

You sound like you’re advertising.

I concur

Nah, English isn’t his first language. That’s why it comes off like that.

If you get that error message it means Supercade is still running so when you try to open it again (because the previous one crashed and you can’t see the window to close) it cannot use that port because it is already in use by the previous SuperCade. All you gotta do here is open up task manager and end supercade client. Then you can open supercade again because the port is now free :).

PS, I know this thread is a few months old.

3s is unplayable in Supercade.

Supercade is a ghost town now anyway.

Supercade has maintained the same number of people it has always had.

I have been playing Supercade a lot lately. It still excellent and the best source to play old school fighters online vs other players.

Supercade is great. I actually played 2 people from Europe this week, and while latency had understandable reflexes, it was somehow playable. The only problem is some of the people there. It looks like, with the exception of Bojack, it is perfecly fine if I do OK against some foreigner. But if I play someone from my country, I should throw the match, else they quit. However, in GGPO, the good Brazilian players are also around, and I can have fierce matches.
