I’m pretty sure duck strong can only be cancelled up close so you can’t do cr. fwdx2, cr. str.xx claw roll, but you could do a duck jab off the 2 duck forwards into a claw roll.
You can also link off of standing roundhouse but that’s not as useful.
Heheh, you’re confusing ST with CvS2.
Apoc.
Well then forget the bit about cancelling duck strong but the rest of what I said should work.
P.S. My DC is dead so I was going on my apparently less that reliable memory.
As already mentioned the main Vega combo is c,Forward x2, c.Strong. He has the other charge based combo’s but you’ll almost never get good openings to use them plus c.Forward makes a great meaty attack and sets up other options if it doesn’t hit. He has one other main link combo :
j.Feirce, s.Feirce, c.Strong
This looks really good and is one of the only backwards link combos in the game but the timing is pretty tricky, a bit like putting the s.Feirce on the end of Rog’s Hyperfighting dash combos. After the Standing Feirce hesitate a moment then do the c.Strong. You can also basically the same combo with j.Roundhouse, s.Roundhouse, c.Strong but I prefer the triple claw just for style (well this Vega afterall).
If you like Vega combos look for Hyperfighting Vega in HSF2AE, he has the easiest redizzzy of all time, just early Feirce roll, c.Feirce!
Most people already know but I’ll restate anyway, any time you land a Flipkick you can tag on a second for an extra hit.
Just thought I would throw in that it has to be Vega’s close stand Fierce>crouch strong, but this combo can also be used as the opponent is getting up and you are close (a meaty combo). Vega had that combo since Super SF2.
Crayfish, do you know if Japan still plans to release an arcade version of Hyper SF2?
In ST, you can definitely cancel c.strong into a roll at any time. It will combo if it is done close up.
Eh, I never meant that the roll itself would combo after the string, just that you can cancel into it. It’s more of an annoyance/flinch/I’manass kinda thing, Vega is the king of that after all.
