So I’ve noticed a player called corryzink appearing on ggpo the past month, and I realized it was THE London Corry.

Finally managed to catch him at his keyboard today and played a few matches with him.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you besides Corry are willing to play ST on ggpo regularly?

As a rule online is ass and is no substitute for offline. However London is far and we lack an Arcade board, making ggpo far more practical in the long term.

I'm usually on skype, my account should be tied to my e-mail which is jed707@hotmail.com if your down.

I know that Chris and Mihai are gonna be the most likely participants, however if your on the fence thinking your gonna get stomped don't be shy.

Fucking France has had a billion people on ggpo playing ST over the past few months. Most of them are shitty. Point is, they are stepping up their game. I would love to see like 6 Canadian flags in the ggpo lobby at the same time. If I could get the rest of the GTA guys on board, we could make that happen.

So yeah ST on ggpo let’s do it up guys.

I wanna start a database that contains a list of peeps who play GGPO ST on the East Coast. Preferably below 50 ping. Not limited to Canada mind you.

If your on the fence because you can’t get ggpo to run, hit me up on skype and I’ll walk you through the port forwarding nonsense.

If you don’t have a stick ffs get one cuz if one of my dota buddies can get a stick in like 6 hours on craigslist to play cvs2 and 3s for a few days on the cheap than open up your wallet.

Hopefully we can start running a few random tourneys. Online is our best option. Bleak I know, but it’s a sign of the times.

So how hardcore are the locals for this game?

Not sure what kind of tourney presence is gonna be at NEC XIV for ST, but I was thinking of going…

$98 round trip Greyhound bus to Philly and back. Outlets on all the buses, apparently. I’ll bring my laptop for some shmupmame ST practice on the way there and back.

Not sure about the locals, but I know that ST at NEC always has fierce competition.

Oh, nice! I couldn’t find any info on NEC XIII for ST, so I wasn’t sure how it turned out.

Yeah, some ST guys are REALLY bad at advertising and social media stuff. If you check strevival.com, or simply message Kuroppi (head of STR) on facebook or twitter, he’ll know best what’s cracking for ST in NEC.

The East Coast guys usually don’t advertise until right before the tournament. Come on guys, don’t be so lazy!

Brett was telling me he can get $20 off the megabus price if you’re taking megabus to philly. But I don’t know the megabus price. And I’d still need place to stay…

Oh, nice, that could be good… yeah you’d need a place to stay if you plan to stay for the weekend. the one trip I was looking at gets there Sunday morning and leaves sometime in the early a.m. Monday so it could avoid the hotel stay. But now I realized I let my passport expire for too long and I have to re-apply the long way… :frowning: working on it.

If anyone wants a CRT HD TV, my boss is trying to get rid of his Sony Wega 32"… probably cheap or free if you come pick it up, I’m not sure.

I imagine it would be a good TV for ST, and still takes an HD signal as well.

Oh damn, I wish I heard about that sooner, Maybe had one of my friends pick it up or something… I’d love to have that but I got no space to put it in at the moment.

I heard David Spence will be back in town for the holidays. I wanted to plan a meetup but I can’t find time in my schedule. Kevin says he got the UD CPS-2 as well, I’m itching to try out. I’m looking at the 23rd and 30th right now.

I can host if ppl need a venue. Only days I can’t host are from the 24th to the 28th.

I’m thinking 22/23 (one or the other, I have an event on one, but i don’t know which yet)
30th, and Jan 6th. I haven’t gotten around to texting anyone yet. I also think i forgot to ask james for his cell #. does anyone have it? (maybe i did ask, I’ll check tomorrow or something)

I’ll PM you… probably busy next week but good anytime after. I can usually make time for ST

The UD CPS2 thing sounds awesome… I didnt know something like that existed.

Looks like chances are it’ll be tomorrow at Kevin’s place off yonge and college. PM me your phone number if you can make it I’ll pass along his address

Would it be worth it to try and get this game tagged along with some of the regular local tourneys? i.e. Northern Battles and whatever else comes up. I wouldn’t mind talking to Russell about it myself, but I don’t want to promise anyone’s equipment or availability

However, I’m thinking we could get the core of approx. five who have been showing up to recent events, plus a few other players that have dropped in from the last tourney @ A&C, plus Hamilton and maybe if the guys from London would make the trip every once a while for an A&C tournament, and I think I can get at least one other friend to come with me to the next event. We could get a turnout of about 10-15, and I think that’s a fairly conservative number. That should be a good enough turnout to carve ST as one of the side-games.

Before you came during the last casual, I was mentioning that my next tournament would be sometime in march, and that brett is working on getting ST @ toryuken 3 in May.

Ah, that’s great to hear that you guys have some stuff in the works.
