Hey lets try and work out the details of the āGrand Master Challengeā leaderboard
My suggestion is to do a weekly reset similar to the XBL HDR Leader board. Winner gets their name listed as the Grand Master of that week and a Photo to prove it along with any other winnings. That way each week everybody gets a shot at being on the board and a shot at being the Grand Master. We can either track points by weekly Tournament results or Ranbats.
Iām sure there are many ways we can do this but I want to make it fun for the people that come all the time and even the people that canāt make it every week.
We also need to figure out a night we can all come out and do some Live Streaming of ST. WNF will not work but I think Thursday or Saturday could. Lets get the details hammered out and get Hype for ST!
I vote for a monthly reset. That way you get to gauge your process over the course of a month, as well as being able to challenge the person in the rank above you for their spot. If you win your challenge, you move up one rank, and you get to have the loserās name at the right side of your own, just to see who lost to who. If you lose the challenge, then you lose ranking points, (like 3 points), and you may or may not drop down in rank.
Imo, thereās no real point to doing a weekly reset, since the majority of us only play once a week anyway during WNF. Might as well just post tournament results on a weekly basis to see your ranking, like what weāve already been doing.
I think 1st place should be given 10 points, 2nd place 5 points, 3rd place 2 points, and the rest of top 8 gets 1 point. Just an idea on how the points system should work.
Iām down for streaming on any weekend night (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

For the ranking board, I suggested that we keep the rankings until people are challenged out of their spots, but we allow people who arenāt on board to challenge if they make top 8 at WNF or any other tournament we run. I prefer this idea because the board wonāt have much impact if itās constantly changing; it will be easier to judge improvement if spots are held for a long time before someone upsets the rankings. What do you guys think?
Also, as much as I like the idea of streaming, we canāt really schedule anything until we know that Commando is prepared. Letās try and talk to him on Wednesday (if heās there) to see if we can work out a good time to try things out.
Donāt forget that this Saturday is going to determine the initial rankings! Let me know if you guys are free to enter cause we need as many of the consistent players as we can get for this one! Iām fine with doing it on Sunday as well, so let me know whatās up.

So we determine initial rankings by this Saturdayās session, and then from there, people are free to challenge players? Whatās the penalty for losing a challenge, nothing? Also, Iām fine with adding players who make top 8, but is there a way we can use this rankings board to encourage players who donāt regularly make top 8 at tournaments? Or are they just going to have to earn their spots the hard way?
Canāt make it this Saturday, got a tournament to run. But Iām still down for Friday and Sunday, and on a normal schedule, Saturday night is the best night for me.
Iām still showing up Wednesday. Are we still going to hold a tournament on that day? Or just run casuals?

eltrouble: This Saturday would determine the initial rankings only. Any challenges after that would have to come from top 8 finishers from the next tournament at Super Arcade (the quals in this case). Iām not sure of any penalties for losing a challenge that you make, but there should be something along the lines of not being able to challenge again for a certain amount of time. I feel like the top 8 would be varied enough from tournament to tournament to justify only allowing those players to challenge openly without being on the board. Itās a group effort though! Iām sure weāll come up with a fair set of rules soon.

Is Sunday better for you? After some talking with Armando it seems like that is best day for the ranking battle to take place. Sorry if itās kinda late notice, but it seems like thatās the better day for a lot of us.
Also, sorry for ending the tournament so early tonight. It was kinda lackluster, and I had to cut out early. Good shit to Bach for taking it convincingly by beating everyone that was there (Afro, DGV, Jchen, Voltech, me, and Danny). As for the Sunday ranking tournament, it will be completely free entry to anyone that wants to enter, and we can try out some of the challenges that day if everyone is into it. There is also a strong likelihood of the tournament being streamed, so it will probably be the most practice weāll be able to get before the EVO qualifier next Saturday on the 31st.

First off, mega thanks to Watson for supporting our scene and helping us build up to where we are now! Iād also like to give a hella big thanks to Afro, DGV, Bach, and Voltech for coming out to Super through thick and thin nearly twice a week since the start of the season. I know you donāt hear it much, but I really appreciate you guys coming and supporting ST while juggling work and home life cause I know it aināt easy; DGV especially for sacrificing your guysā own board just so we can play on the H2H. And, of course, Voltech for putting in work and money to make the cabs awesome and for putting together the ranking board. All of you guys rock!

Sunday will definitely work for me this week. Iāll be there. Iām also interested in attempting to have another HF tourney, that game was too much fun, and hopefully we can get a decent group going this weekend.
