Next week will be a special event, so no ST tournament on Wednesday. However, if you guys are available, we can do something on Saturday or Sunday. Any preference?

Was hoping to see the japanese sticks this weekā€¦ Whats the word on that Mike?.. all us ST Supporters were talking about it last night.

GGs to all. Itā€™s awesome seeing some old and new faces last night. Match of the night goes to Voltech and Papercut, it was an insane match that felt like a Grand Finals set.

Iā€™ll post up the footage when I can. Unfortunately I donā€™t have all the finals matches since my battery ran short on charge, Iā€™ll fix that for next time.

Iā€™m down for a weekend tournament. Is it going to be supergun setups, or cabinet setups?

Yeah that match was insane up until the end lol GG to DangerousPaperCut

GGā€™s to everyone last night it was good to see you all. Shout outs to ShotosAllDay* good to meet you, man those old shotos are so tough!

Big thanks Watson for letting us old guys have some fun and thanks to MuffinMan for setting this up P.S. I owe you one

Iā€™m gonna have to bring my bag O sticks out and see if I can fix up that cab setup with some new gates and switches.

It depends really. If weā€™re unable to work out a Japanese h2h, itā€™ll have to be Supergun + American cabinet. Either way, it would be great if we could get everyone together on the weekend. There is a Soul Calibur event on Sunday, so Iā€™m thinking that will be the better day to roll out (thanks for the tip watson), but Saturday is still an option if people arenā€™t available.

Either way works for me, but if we have it on Sunday, then I can guarantee that MillerTime will be there. Sheā€™s hungry for some offline SCV action.

Iā€™m not sure how well it would work with that cab, but I can probably build a JAMMA tap for DB-15 connectors. (Though that would not be suitable for general arcade use.)

Couldnā€™t you install a couple of ports\adapters to the outside of the cab for PS2 controllers? That way you could use any controller you wanted correct?

Maybe some of the more technical guys like rufus and voltech come out a little bit earlier to help setup with the japanese head to head cab. Iā€™m sure that all of Watsons staff is super busy with setting up the main games for WNF. I mean if itā€™s ok with watson, maybe we can pitch him some elbow grease to help setup. What do you say Watts? Is that an option?

Iā€™m the biggest offender here, but weā€™re being pretty rude. Especially because this is not the sort of thing that should be discussed on a public forum. Put yourself into Watsonā€™s shoes for a moment: Heā€™s clearly working to accommodate our wants and needs. Heā€™s making efforts to get a second SF2T set up, and changing the existing one to meet peopleā€™s demands. And what do we do? We talk about rewiring Super Arcadeā€™s equipment, and suggest that they need help getting their set-ups in shape. (Imagine youā€™ve got house guests and after you make efforts to accommodate them, they start talking about rearranging your furniture and changing your paintā€¦ on your facebook page.)

Suggesting any modification to their equipment here is way out of line, and Iā€™d like to apologise to Mike Watson and the Super Arcade crew who have been helpful, open, accommodating and more than competent. Both times that I had equipment issues while I was there, they were handled professionally and politely. If I participate in any further discussion regarding that sort of thing, it will be in a more appropriate and private context.

I know that your comment is well-intended, but Iā€™m sure that Watson et al will handle that without problems.

Iā€™m thinking quite the opposite, we all know Mike is working hard to make things happen. How is he going to be aware or what people want if nobody talks to him in person or on here if nobody speaks their mind? Watts isnā€™t going to take issue with suggestions from people who show up day after day, week after week and actually spend money at the arcade.

It worked for beatmaniaIIDX (it was DOA when Mike took over Super), we wanted the correct monitor so some buddies of mine told asked Mike for the go ahead and we went out and found one and replaced it our selfs. Now the machine is in working order and actually gets played by people strolling through who might have not played it otherwise.

This arcade sounds serious. And I know whoā€™s running it, so I expected nothing but the best. Iā€™m glad to see so many people still supporting the scene, some for over 20 years, some still green around the ears. Hopefully soon Iā€™ll have the honor of coming out and doing my part to help out! Look for me in the next couple of months.

It was under my impression from Mike Watson that he wanted our opinions on the matter of controls and such. Regardless whether american or japanese cab, I have still been coming out to show support even though I have to wake up at 4:30am the next day to go to work. Even though I come out to play on the american cab, I **STRONGLY **prefer the japanese parts.

When I talk to the other ST guys, they say they want japanese parts as well. But no one says anything to Watson. When I talk to Watson, it sounds like Iā€™m the only one that wants japanese parts. From his point of view, if its only 1 person that wants to change cabs, of course its not worth his time to switch it out. Iā€™m just trying to get our voice heard so that things get addressed. I may sound annoying, but I think better that, than people not showing up because the controls arenā€™t what they expected. I know some guys are shy and wonā€™t speak up and just stop coming all together. This is not was the ST movement needs. Anyways, I think Iā€™ve expressed my thoughts on this matter enough times already. I donā€™t want to be too annoying so this will be the last time I bring it up. If you want the japanese cabs, itā€™s up to you guys now.

I see what you mean and youā€™re right Mike has done an amazing job. I guess I just feel the need to help out. Since this is the only ST Cab and I have a bunch of extra parts laying around I figured I donate them to the cause.

Youā€™re right Rufus, the wiring idea may be taking it too far but I got excited at the thought of being able to play my own stick at the arcade. Iā€™ll leave it up to you and Mike since thatā€™s not my department.

I think dngrs summed it up best. We all love WNF and come and play on the American cab, but the majority of us are accustomed to, would have cleaner execution on, and would prefer a Jap setup.

Just want to say thanks to eltrouble & matrixmatt for uploading all those ST vids lately. Good stuff.
Also, Watson is a cool guy. Heā€™ll hear you out and if youā€™ve got a plan, the technical know how, and the parts then iā€™m sure you guys can work something out.
Btw, I may join the ST tourney next week if I get there early enough.

It usually starts around 9:30pm or so, so youā€™ll have plenty of time to get there. Currently uploading the vids from last night right now.

Oh hey I didnā€™t realize this thread existed.

I was in LA for an internship last summer and I got to play a shit ton of super turbo one day when I was there. I play T. Hawk and I am not good, but I had a great time anyway. Super legit arcade, and it was awesome that there were a decent amount of people there to play ST. Canā€™t wait until next time I get to come by!

Playlist for the majority of the matches played last night.

***Fixed the playlist. There were supposed to be 28 matches, but for some reason, youtube didnā€™t add them properly. ***
