Super Street Fighter IV Sakura VS (insert character here) Dictionary

Just a random thing I noticed against T.Hawks that like to spam Condor Dives. If you high block the Dive you can L or M DP him before he lands from the rebound on the block, sending him back halfway across the screen.

I don’t even think you have to stand block. On blocked T.Hawk dive you can LP Shou > Ultra or punish with HP Shou.

You can Jab Honda out of all of his Headbutts
You can backdash out of his Grab Ultra when you are in neutral state and punish with everything you want.

According to the frame data Honda’s U2 is 1+0, meaning if you aren’t already running away before the Ultra flash then you’re fucked :stuck_out_tongue:

its the same as with giefs ultra

just have to hit buffer it so it comes out at the first available frame.

i.e. u can also beat it with EX Shou like Zangiefs Ultra if you reversal

Honda’s U2 range is not nearly as good as Gief’s. That’s probably why you can backdash it. The active box is like in his stomach or something.

you can do that? I’ve never had that work, ever… If gief ultras and I haven’t already jumped or done ex shou before the freeze, it’s a done deal… infact, I’m PRETTY sure I’ve been thrown out of ex shou before

I would like to add for Bison, j.MP and j.MK beats his Headstomps if you jump back, but don’t be afraid to focus cause if he lands in front and eats the crumple, its a free combo. You can c.HP it but I think its risky. When he’s directly above or you see him coming that way I would focus.

are You supposed to focus the 2nd hit? because I tried focusing the first hit a few times, and I just ended up getting caught with devils reverse for an ungodly amount of damage… I’ve long since given up on focusing anything bison does. scissor kick hits twice, psycho crusher armor breaks and headstomp seems to do extra damage when you focus it…

I would have to try it, this is off a friend’s suggestion. Unless anyone else wants to answer?

I was meaning Head Press to Somersault Skull Driver… I just focused and dashed under him.

Gah, damn you Bison.

Ahoy, SSFIV Sakura players! This is my first post in the Sakura forums, so I don’t really know any of you so… nice to meet ya!

Now onto my reason for posting:

I have decided to main Sakura, and am finding numerous matchups that are giving me a WORLD of trouble. Granted I’m not good at SF yet and have no way to regularly practice, but I’d still like your general opinions of a few matchups.

First problem is Dhalsim. I find myself getting stuffed by his range on his normals. Jump ins/otoshis are met by a swift anti-air knee. I find myself randomly charging FAs, in hopes that I can tag one of Sim’s limbs and stun him long enough to get IN. Once I’m in range, I am okay, but its the neutral play that is KILLING me. My other strategies include half charging a HP Hadoken then running in under cover of it, and trying to time Ex Otoshi when Sim uses yoga fire. Any tips on what can be done against a patient Sim player?

My second problem is with Guile. I just… can’t do anything against a turtling Guile player. Any advice here is appreciated!

Haven’t forgotten about you guys, been busy with work and an upcomming vacation I guess you could call it. Ill have everything updated in 3-4 days.

my test from vanilla resulted that it only works on EX Headstop
the other let him recover to far away.

Yeah after more testing I’ve kinda noticed that too, but then again it was a friends suggestion.

I suck at this

Someone please tell me these aren’t true:

Honda’s jumping hp beats Sakura’s cr. hp.

U2 doesn’t connect on Honda after EX Tatsu.

'Cause it just happened to me against a Honda. The U2 not connecting might be because my timing was off, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. It’s not like your timing has to be amazing to hit U2 after an EX Tatsu, right? It’s the first time it’s ever missed for me.

I’ve only missed Shinkuu Tengyou once and that’s because of horrible lag. Did you do a 3-hit link combo into EX Shunpuu? Seems to push Honda a little further away than usual, which stops Otoshi from landing a lot but don’t know about Shinkuu.

c.HP would win if he jumps deep enough but it’s probably like Vega’s j.HP where if it’s fairly shallow it’ll trade or beat c.HP.

All I did was cr. lk into EX Shunpuu (I’ve noticed I’ve been calling this Tatsu, is that incorrect?).

Well just tested it myself and had no trouble landing both versions of Shinkuu after EX Shunpuu, though after a 3-hit link combo it only clips the side of him (still get all 5 hits).

The full name of the move is Shunpuu Kyaku (Spring Breeze Kick), most people are lazy and don’t bother remembering the true name of her moves :stuck_out_tongue: Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku (Whirlwind Hurricane Kick) is only used by Ryu, Ken and Akuma, Gouken’s is a variant. Everyone will know what you’re talking about but being a Sakura fan and main I refuse to call her moves by incorrect names :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah me love Sakura

“Basically the option select is block > jump > backdash, you input it in that order.
You want to block just so long so that IF he did j.mk you’ll block it.
IF he did an empty jump you’ll have inputted jump at that point, since it takes longer for Abel to land and do a move than it does for j.mk to get blocked.
After you input the jump you start inputting backdash so that if you blocked j.mk you’ll start backdashing in case he tries to pressure you with a blockstring or if he goes for an instant TT.”

This was godly info, thank you.

New to the Sak forums but hardly new to her, been playing her since the start of 4.

My only question: I read the whole thread and was wondering, EX DP FADC. Is that really worth it in matches? It’s a risky link and eats a lot of meter, just wondering if you guys actually use it in real matches.

MilkLoverMN on xbox live if anyone is on the east coast and wants to compare Saks, no homo.

Oh well. I must have mistimed it, then.
