Super Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition "S" - Now Available!

Finally got my new TE S and I have zero complaints, I was really worried about the wrist issue, because things like that bother my usually (my mouse pad for my pc gives me issues sometimes). The stick is perfect, well, after I switched out the ugly 360 button colors to match the stock PS3 one. Great product!

Also, I would love to see new SE sticks with the TvC buttons, but make sure you throw in some new SUPER artwork and maybe black case this time around?

Im not quite sure what you mean by new parts? Do u mean new board, new buttons, electronics?

The future Special editions should come with parts only available in the special edition. For example, if your company drops the new femme fatal it should contain semitsu parts or sanwa colors not available to the public like a royal purple and pearl white not the standard white and vermilion.

I actually think the buttons on the EX-SE don’t look bad, especially compared to the new TE. The black cylinders improve the appearance quite a bit on the Hori.

I’m not in Windows right now so I can’t test it, but if you have the switch set to either LS or RS before you connect the TE will the stick register as something other than a POV hat? That’s causing some issues with some of my games because if it is set to DP they don’t use it for directional input, but if I use one of the buttons on the TE to choose a game mode it’ll switch to “joystick” mode and stop accepting input from the stick (for directions only).

Joy2Key sorta works, but I have to do everything from the main menus on the keyboard and then switch to the TE once the games start which is an annoyance.

Yeah, I think the 360 version of the S sticks would have looked so much better if they had used the black-rimmed Sanwa buttons for the 360 face buttons.

Ahh The topic title is misleading. it should say “no available in America, not anywhere else”

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I’ve been playing with it. I like it alot. It’s my first stick so I don’t have much to go off of. The way I figured it is because I’m not that into modding, then if I buy a TE then I should be set for a long time.

My only problem is adapting; I’ve been playing on a pad for just under a year and have gotten, actually, really damn good on it. I FINALLY got a stick and now…I’m not sure where to begin with the thing. Moving backwards gives me jumps, going from DB to F with vega I sometimes get UF and stuff like that. It’s not the stick, it’s me obviously and I’m looking for a thread that has super basic tips about how like: this is the normal button set-up, this is how most people hold the stick. Stuff like that. Can anyone direct me?

I love this stick though. The ugly 360 buttons are a pain but I bought if for its guts and its guts are top notch

One thing to do is practice a bunch (obviously  ) But one way to practice that should help getting movements down is to do repetition in training mode. For example do 50 qcf moves from one side of the screen then 50 from the other side. After that do the same for dragon punch moves and so on and so forth until you are better at the basic moves. That’s how I did it and it works really well mixed in with playing many matches. Some on this site actually posted about it.

Then of course practice all your combos in a similar way when you get better. It won’t take long so just stick it out and practice!

I found this guide kinda useful as a first time stick user myself.

Here is my updated TE S:

It’s pretty sweet lookin’ now.

hahah i did that with mine last night AND did mod work for a plug and play ASCII optical. dont mind the whites for the 7th and 8th buttons. i ran out of buttons lying around .

I’m jealous.

Thank you for helping and giving me those links - I appreciate it!

got a white TE-S for 360 and i’m very tempted to pick up some new buttons. i kinda want to wait for the 90 day warranty to expire before i try to open this bad boy up. this is my 1st stick and not sure what to expect when i try to take it apart. can someone tell me why MS required this color-scheme for the buttons this time but not on the older TE models? kinda lame… awesome stick though.

^^^ I think they look skexy

I believe Mark is talking about the upgraded MadCatz parts from the TvC stick (which are light years better than stock Hori and MadCatz SE parts, though still not as good as Sanwa/Seimitsu) in a new version of the SE for SSFIV.

Awesome, it’s nice to know that the Black version of the TE-S exists for 360. Every single GameStop in my town got the white version, so that’s what I ended up getting. And then Amazon didn’t have them available for a while, I was starting to think the black version on 360 was a myth… now to go buy one.

Changing the buttons is retardedly easy. Just open up the top, remove the quick disconnects from the old buttons (might need a flathead to work them off), remove them, pop in the new buttons, and reattach them. If I get the 360 S stick, I’m definitely swapping out for different colored buttons since that scheme is just fugly.

Where’d you go?? Heh I bought mine in townCenter

at first i didn’t like much the extended artwork/plexi, now the more i look at it, the more i want a black one… maybe if i sell my current TE i will snatch one from amazon.
