Super Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition "S" - Now Available!

thats actually how i imagined it lol, but i imagine they got rid of their extra white ps3 cases with the tatsunoko sticks, on the other hand they still might have some white xbox (with the headset) cases sitting around lol

Has the question about the pcb’s in the “S” series TE been answered? Is it the same as round 1 TE’s or is it an updated version?

Confirmed long ago that this was a new PCB.

Thanks Dev! Looks like I’ll be buying this one too.

I wonder if mc is going to use the same shitty pcbs like the one in the te?

Said that the TE S has improved PCB and new feature.

i wonder if the new PCB fits in the first gen TE sticks.

i got a femme fatale stick during the keychain promotion and the RT & LT issues have already begun. This will make the 3rd 360 TE that I have owned to do this. It’s getting ridiculous.

MarkMan,

What ever happened to the White Asian-exclusive PS3 TE Sticks?

Were they cancelled?

That’s the big mystery… Betting it has something to do with Micro$oft and exclusive licensing deals.

Other than that, good to hear the Asian market is officially opening to the next round of MC TE Sticks.

I wonder what Hori has planned for the US later this year? There has to be a response unless they want to lose their import market!

They have Asia covered with the redesigned sticks question is when and if the Hori V-SA officially releases in the American market later this year. I wonder how well the HRAP 3 SA did for them last year with the American release.

this stick? no conspiracy…

edit. thats a 360 stick

When will MadCatz support dual console compatibility? Unless there’s some legal issues, this would be the most important update to the TE sticks. Back in the Xbox, PS2, GameCube days, there were plethora of pads and sticks that supported this function (triple system support). Judging from the threads here, most people are highly interested in having a stick that is compatible for both PS3 and Xbox360. As long as there aren’t any licensing issues to put dual modes on a stick, I believe this would actually be more profitable for Mad Catz since it would significantly lower manufacturing costs by streamlining the bill of materials, not to mention improved lot tracking and support related costs.

Can you shun some light on this issue? I am sure most people in the community would be more than happy to pay $10 or $20 bucks more to have it done out of the box. As an example, look at the Datel, and Paewang hack threads. People are paying around $60 bucks just to get their hands on the PCB alone. I am sure Mad Catz recognizes that there is a market for this.

Microsoft has implemented a security protocol for input devices for the Xbox 360. This means that they both physically and legally control the means of access to the 360 for input devices. MadCatz and other 3rd party manufacturers have to sign a contract with Microsoft to legally manufacture devices with the security features that allow them to talk to the 360. You can imagine what such a contract might entail, but assuming they will not let you choose your own button colors on a stick, it is safe to assume they also aren’t interested in your company creating a 360 stick that also works on the PS3.

I’ve been wondering this as well. I’d love to get my hands on on white one for the PS3.

I know about the security chip (based on numerous posts on this form), but can someone confirm that the ‘contract’ limits any companies producing a stick for dual systems?

i think an easy way for someone like arthong to help us later is to make the face plain old flat instead of that little bend so we can all have easy plexi and cheaper case too

d3v,

Looks like the closest PS3 owners will be able to get an Asian white PS3 MC TE will be to buy an MC Round 1 American PS3 joystick, keep the original buttons and balltop, spraypaint the middle black casing white, and then buy an Art Hong white acrylic plexitop with etched-in circuit lines.

If the White PS3 TE hasn’t appeared by now – with the 360 Asian-exclusive being available since October last year --, I don’t think Mad Catz will release it ANYWHERE now with a redesigned joystick case coming out in late March/April for Super Street Fighter IV.

There are still plenty of R1 and R2 Mad Catz TE sticks out there in warehouses and it looks they’ll be around for a bit longer with sales as sluggish as they generally are in the consumer sector.

(Let’s not forget the Marvel Vs Capcom TE sticks, either. I think MC’s biggest blunder of the past year was to release those sticks well AFTER the release of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on XBLive and PSN… Had those sticks been available June/July 2009 or even replaced the R1 sticks completely, I doubt GameStop would be sitting on piles of the “Exclusive, Limited Edition” MvC TE sticks in its stores across North America. It may take another $20-$40 price drop below the $99.99 salesprice for GameStop to get rid of those sticks altogether. People here are forgetting or are unaware of the fact that GameStop sat on a nice pile of Tekken 5 10th Anniversary joystick packages for a LONG time until those got discounted to $30!)

I’m seriously considering getting another R1 TE and modding it, or sacrificing my otherwise little-used launch day-condition TE to save cash and mod that instead of buying a new stick…

R1’s are going for $100 American – sometimes less – in new/mint condition.

(PS3 TE models are generally more reliable than the 360 TE’s. Worst case scenario is that the PCB goes bad and I have to get another PCB from Mad Catz or just get a Cthulu or MC Cthulu replacement PCB. Either way is good by me…)

That’s been one of the few good things about the economy the past few months. It’s depressed stick prices to levels that are a bit more reasonable for collectors and fighting game enthusiasts…

I know, I know…

I have a fetish for ceramic white Sony systems and white joysticks!

Ever get a chance to measure the dimenstions? Thx!

last time i ask please post a high res picture of the black

just checking out the pics, im not too keen on this new version the original t.e is much better looking has more of a japanese feel to it, the coloured buttons on the 360 are a definate no no, i was after another t.e for my vewlix build and i thought id check out the new style but im definately gonna stick with the original t.e, hey markman will they stop making the original version???,
i think madcatz may have dropped the ball on this one, the key to the first design was it looked so much like the arcade machine…if hori can drop the price on the new vewlix replica i reckon it would be the better option much better looking imo, im gonna pass on this one and save up for that new hori vewlix rep! oh yeah!.
just my two cents.

Love the artwork on both! The black/red one is extremely tempting.
